We are proud to introduce Falkville High School's new Career Coach, Mrs. Emily Schuster!
Mrs. Schuster is passionate about helping students discover their purpose and prepare for life beyond graduation. She began her college journey at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, where she earned an Associate of Science degree. Attending community college was especially beneficial, as she received a theatre scholarship that helped cover the cost.
Growing up on a poultry and cattle production farm, Mrs. Schuster developed a deep passion for agriculture. She showed cattle throughout her youth, where she discovered her love for working with and encouraging others. Through those experiences, she saw firsthand the importance of having a strong support system, whether that be a parent, teacher, coach, or friend.
With encouragement from her dad, she pursued a degree in Agricultural Education from Auburn University, originally planning to work in a 4-H Extension role. However, during her student teaching internship, she fell in love with the National FFA Organization. Through FFA, she saw the power of students stepping outside their comfort zones and developing the leadership skills needed for lifelong success.
After eight years in the agriculture classroom, Mrs. Schuster is transitioning into her role as Career Coach to focus on helping students build the skills they need to succeed, no matter the path they choose after high school. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in education from Liberty University, where her research focuses on high school students’ social transition to college.
The Career Coach role supports students through career exploration, scholarship opportunities, job shadowing experiences, college application guidance, career assessments, and workforce readiness skills. She is passionate about connecting students with resources that help them confidently take their next steps.
Mrs. Schuster's goal is to ensure that every student graduates with a clear plan and the confidence to pursue it. She believes the Lord has called her to education as her mission field and strives to serve students with purpose and care each day. She is thrilled for the opportunity to serve the students of Falkville High School and Morgan County.
