Stimulate members' businesses within the Village of Fairport and Town of Perinton. Provide a forum to exchange ideas to enhance the promotion of Fairport and Perinton businesses. Promote community pride through sponsorship of organized events and activities. Provide support to the community and residents through civic endeavors and volunteer efforts of the membership. About the Fairport Perinton Merchants Association
The Fairport Perinton Merchants Association Inc. (FPMA) is a non-profit civic organization of retail, service and restaurant business owners in the Village of Fairport and the Town of Perinton. The organization was formed in 1979 for the purpose of promoting local commerce in the area. There are many benefits of membership, including collective and subsidized advertising programs, participation in sponsored business seminars and the sharing of ideas with other local business owners. The FPMA sponsors several events throughout the year, including Fairport Canal Days – a hugely popular arts and crafts show held the first full weekend in June. Over 200,000 people attend the festival each year. Scarecrow Festival is sponsored by the FPMA as well! FPMA also provides Christmas decor for the Village, hanging flower baskets lining Main Street in the summer, and many other improvements for the beautification of our community. FPMA also contributes significant dollars to numerous local charitable organizations.
