September 2026: By the Numbers 🚑
Every call, class, and event is a chance to make a difference. In September, Perinton Ambulance responded to 577 calls for help, each of them a moment when someone in our community needed support. The most common reasons were falls (141), interfacility transfers (64), and 60 calls for people feeling sick. We’re proud to have covered 94.5% of all calls, and we’re grateful for our mutual aid partners who step in when needed. More than half of our patients (55.1%) were transported to the hospital, while 20.7% received care right at home 🏡.
Our impact goes beyond emergencies. Last month, 73 community members joined us for blood pressure clinics 🩺, and 95 residents borrowed canes, crutches, walkers, or wheelchairs from our loan closet ♿. We certified 27 new CPR students, giving more people the skills to save a life ❤️. We also checked and installed 9 car seats to help keep kids safe on the road 🚗.
We cheered on Fairport Football at every home game and provided medical standby support during two house fires.
