Perinton Ambulance Crews Respond to Weather-Related Injuries at Fairport Canal Days Festival
FAIRPORT, NY - At approximately 3:43pm, Perinton Ambulance crews on standby at Fairport Canal Days were alerted that a tree branch came down on a tent within the festival site. Crews responded immediately under the command of Deputy Chief Mike Fritz, swiftly triaging and rendering care to all individuals involved. Two patients were transported to local hospitals; two additional patients were evaluated and refused transport for further care. Standby units then returned to service within the festival site.
A special thank you to Village of Fairport Police Department and Fairport Fire Department. "We train and plan for these situations constantly. Our planning and coordination for the festival paid off, allowing us to act quickly and provide the highest level of emergency medical care. The safety and health of our community and visitors is always top priority for Perinton Ambulance," said Robert Cieri, Chief/Director of Operations.
