Welcome to the Story of Advent House - a home located in Fairport, NY, serving people who are in the last stages of a terminal illness. This is a story about the gracious love of God and those called to share that same unconditional love with people who have special needs at a critical time in their lives. Advent House is a home for two residents diagnosed to have less than three months to live. I

t serves all needs of its residents by affirming their dignity as a child of God and by providing all environments to fully live the last precious days of life. The love and support the Advent House ministry offers also embraces the family and friends of its residents and continues into the grieving process.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to the Garden Angels from the Four Seasons Garden Club for their dedication to maintaining our gardens this summer. Additionally, we are grateful for the lovely flower donation from Carol at Wayside Garden Center. Advent House feels blessed to be part of such a supportive community.

Advent House Seeks Volunteers for Gardening Project. Advent House is calling for volunteers, particularly from corporate or school groups, to undertake gardening work in our back gardens, including weeding and mulching. Given the urgent nature of the task, we ask that it be completed as soon as possible; the mulch is already in the driveway. The front gardens were recently completed thanks to a dedicated group and now we need help with the back gardens. For more details, please contact Susan on 223-6112.

We appreciate your donations and would like to inform you of certain items that we cannot accept. These include depends with pull-up styles. However, we do accept adult diapers with tab styles. Additionally, we are unable to accept liners, pads, dressing supplies, chux/bed underpads, commodes, shower chairs, wheelchairs, walkers, and beds. We are delighted to commemorate National Nurses Month by recognizing the exceptional nurses at Advent House, namely Molly Shanto, Brenda Ferraro, Kayla Metzger, Laurie Kaiser, Linda Demme, Robin Mietz, and Christine Welker. Our residents and volunteers are fortunate to have a dedicated team of on-call nurses available 24 hours a day.
