Washington County is expected to experience dangerous heat and the potential for severe weather.

Please take a moment to review the safety information in the graphic below and share it with family, friends, and neighbors.

Heat Safety:
• Drink plenty of water throughout the day
• Limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours
• Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
• Check on elderly relatives, neighbors, and those without air conditioning
• Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles

Severe Weather Preparedness:
• Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts
• Secure outdoor furniture and loose items
• Charge phones and backup batteries
• Be prepared for strong winds, downed trees, power outages, and hail
• Move indoors immediately when thunderstorms approach

A few minutes of preparation today can make a big difference during an emergency.
