The Department of Urban Planning at Ball State University is working with the Town of Fairmount to develop a comprehensive and strategic reinvestment plan for our community. As part of that process, residents are invited to a public forum to share ideas, priorities, and input about Fairmount’s future.

Grant County Economic Growth Council

Three Grant County communities have Indiana Main Street organizations: Fairmount (Main Street Fairmount, Indiana), Gas City (Main Street Gas City, Indiana), and Marion (Historic Marion).

Our newest Growing Grant County post looks at what the Main Street model through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs measures and why the least photogenic part of the work is the part that decides whether a program is still running in five years.

The new mural is nearing completion! 😍 Can we just give a big shoutout to our mural artists Alex and Tino!? Alex is originally from Texas, but has been a Fairmount resident for the past few years! His buddy Tino flew in from El Paso, Texas to tag team this project with him. What a talented duo and we are grateful they have left their artistic mark on our little town. Great work guys! 💪🎨

Kick off James Dean Weekend with Garfield's Great Race & Rebel Run 5k on Saturday, September 26!

🐱 Garfield's Great Race is open to children 12 and under, with age-appropriate race distances so every child can experience the excitement of crossing the finish line. Stick around for Garfield's Giveaway after the race for some awesome prizes!

🏃 Rebel Run 5K welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to take on the course through Fairmount and celebrate the legendary rebel spirit.
