🌟 Service in action! 🌟

On Wednesday, October 21st, five Fairmont Early Risers Kiwanians spent time helping beautify our community by picking up trash along Interstate 90. It was a great reminder that small acts of service can make a big difference.

Kiwanis is all about improving the world, one child and one community at a time. If you care about our community and enjoy serving others, we’d love to have you join us at a Wednesday morning meeting, 6:40am at the Ranch.

Come see what Kiwanis is all about—your first breakfast is on us!

It was a pleasure for the Fairmont Early Risers Kiwanis Club to walk with these young people every week.

It brings us great joy to hear their stories and learn about their activities.

Luis Figueroa and K9 Bruno

Today's speaker was Luis Figueroa Martin County Deputy Sheriff K9 Handler and his K9 Bruno. 👮🐕✨

Deputy Luis is a native of Fairmont, becoming a full time deputy in 2019. 🏛️👨‍✈️ He lobbied to become a K9 Deputy after seeing an increase in narcotics activities in the area. 🚔🔎 Prior to Bruno arrival Martin County Sheriff Department had to rely on Jackson or Faribult County K9 unit. 🤝🐾

He quote it was sad to see good people turn bad for so little and lose everything. 😔💔
He was approved for a K9 unit in 2022 and Bruno started working June 2023. 📅✅

At a cost of a little under $20K he recieved Bruno a Belgian Malinois. 💰🐕

Bruno
Primary duties: Narcotics detection, Tracking suspects, 🕵️‍♂️🎯
Tracking missing people, 🔍🏃
Article/evidence searches, 🔦📍
School narcotics searches. 🏫🎒

Luis demonstrated to the members present Bruno narcotics detection skills. 🎓🐾🌟
