The Salvation Army of Martin County would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by and visited us during Interlaken Heritage Days!

We were blessed to meet so many wonderful people, share information about our programs, and connect with members of our amazing community. Events like these remind us how fortunate we are to serve such caring and supportive communities.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop, say hello, ask questions, and learn more about the services we provide. We truly enjoyed being part of the festivities and are already looking forward to Interlaken Heritage Days next year!

Every week, The Salvation Army Northern Division helps feed thousands of people across Minnesota and North Dakota through our food shelf and hot meal programs.

We believe no one should have to wonder where their next meal will come from.

We serve our neighbors because Jesus has called us to care for those in need.

Thanks to our supporters, The Salvation Army Northern Division is able to help people in Minnesota and North Dakota who face challenges large and small … even as small as securing a birthday cake.

Such was the case when a single mother came to one of our food shelves. She appeared to be very sad, and when our food shelf worker asked her why, the mother explained that she couldn’t afford to buy a cake for her daughter’s birthday today.

After hearing this news, the worker headed to a back room and dug through a pallet of donations received that morning from a local grocery store. The worker then discovered a big, beautiful birthday cake with the theme, “Happy Birthday, Princess!”

The worker gave the cake to the mother and she was overwhelmed with joy and happiness. She couldn’t wait to go home and celebrate with her daughter.

Throughout May, we shared stories of lives changed through God’s grace, celebrated the volunteers and supporters who make this mission possible, and continued investing in the next generation through Christ-centered music programs.
