501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization dedicated to helping veterans
Helping Homeland Heroes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by veterans for veterans and their families to help assist homeless/disabled/low income veterans. Our founders know all too well the struggle of transitioning back into civilian lifestyle. Many veterans come home struggling with finances, employment, homelessness, debilitating mental illnesses such as PTSD, substance abuse issues, and unfortunately many feel there is no where to turn or no other option but to take their own lives. After much research into many other veterans organizations, and experiencing the "bad stigma" surrounding veterans organizations, our goal is to eliminate much of the overhead costs that "take away" from the "profit" or veterans and the mission of the organization. How you might be asking yourself? We have no office, we work in the field fundraising, or from home grant writing and making phone calls, gathering resources, taking phone calls from veterans in distress and routing them to the appropriate organization, this has eliminated a huge expense from our budget "rent". When we travel it's our personal expenses, gas, lodging, food, all comes from our personal pockets, eliminating "Travel" "Lodging" "Gas" "Food" expenses from the organizations budget as well. All of the startup expenses for the organization were personally funded by the founders with nothing but love and good intentions in their hearts. They believe that no person man or woman who has served our country should ever have to struggle in the same country that they so selflessly served and fought for.
