Our Pollinator Garden is ready for a new season! 🌸 🐝 After one of our beautiful live oak trees on the Anna T. Jeanes property came down in a wind storm last year, we decided to honor its legacy by creating a pollinator garden around it. We brought in rich soil and compost, and thanks to a mighty group of volunteers, we planted more than thirty native flowers. The garden flourished in the hot summer months, serving as a vibrant sanctuary for bees, ladybugs, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

This year, board member Ann Lemis oversaw the replenishment of the garden with local, indigenous pollinator plants. As the flowers return, so do the weeds! We are putting together a monthly "weeding team" to keep this special space thriving. We would love your help.

First Gathering: Saturday, June 13 | 8:00 a.m. (to beat the heat!)
Where: Anna T. Jeanes School property
6925 Twin Beech Road, Fairhope, AL
What to wear/bring: sunscreen, sun protection, and gloves
To sign up: Email us at [email protected] or just show up!

Registration for June’s FoodRx is officially OPEN! 🌿
We are excited to present From Forest to Fork with special guest Maria Hoffmann. As the founder of Little Roots, Alabama Foraging Society, and Gulf Coast Roots, Maria has dedicated her work to a simple, beautiful goal: helping us reconnect with the natural world.

In this hands-on class, Maria will teach us how to identify and harvest oyster mushrooms—a native Southeast delicacy found right here in our own hardwood habitats. Afterward, we’ll gather for a plant-forward feast celebrating the flavors of the forest, with vegan options for every single course! 🍄

🍽️ Menu:
• Lion's Mane "Crab" Cakes – golden, pan-seared patties showcasing the remarkable seafood-like texture of local lion's mane mushrooms, seasoned with classic coastal herbs
• Oyster Mushroom Alfredo – sautéed local mushrooms in a traditional creamy Alfredo sauce over pasta (a vegan cashew-cream Alfredo will also be available)
• Greek Salad – crisp romaine, cucumbers, and peppers with house-made dressing
• Roasted Cauliflower – oven-roasted with simple, savory seasoning
• Grilled Peaches – caramelized peaches with candied pecans and whipped coconut cream 🍑

✨ When & Where:
June 14 | 2:00–4:00 PM

Our hearts are full after our very first May Day Celebration.❤️ Thank you to everyone who came out and shared the day with us. It meant so much to see families, alumni of the Anna T. Jeanes School, and members of our community come together to dance, play, celebrate, and make new memories.

A special thank you goes to our amazing volunteers and organizers. This event would not have happened without your hard work, generosity, and countless hours behind the scenes.

From the May Pole dancing to the cake walk, facepainting and sack races, it was a day filled with joy and connection. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this event so incredibly special.🌻

Our next STORY SLAM is right around the corner! Join us and the Fairhope Storytellers on Thursday, May 14th, at The Book Cellar at Page & Palette for a night of stories themed, "BUSTED: Caught in the Act and Other Human Follies!"

What is your favorite story about getting caught doing something you were not supposed to be doing? What about a time when you caught someone red-handed and busted them? Or, have you ever gotten away with something, but the guilt caused you to self-report?
