The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program is pleased to announce Jason Kudulis as its next Director.

Following a national search led by the MBNEP Executive Committee, Jason was selected to lead the program into its next chapter and will officially begin in this role on February 1. Jason
has been with MBNEP for the past 10 years, most recently serving as Deputy Director, where he helped advance restoration projects, strengthen partnerships, and apply science-based solutions to protect and restore coastal Alabama.

A Mobile native, Jason brings both a deep understanding of our coastal ecosystems and a strong commitment to the communities that depend on them. We look forward to continuing MBNEP’s collaborative, science-driven work under his leadership as we protect and restore Mobile Bay for generations to come.

Congratulations, Jason!

Tonight, Sallie’s story takes center stage.

Join us at 6:00 PM at the Fairhope Public Library for a free screening of Sallie’s Ashes, a powerful short documentary about one woman’s final fight to protect Mobile Bay from toxic coal ash.

Sallie Smith and the Coal Ash Grannies made it their mission to stop Alabama Power from leaving 21 million tons of coal ash in an unlined pit at Plant Barry. That waste is sitting in groundwater, leaking arsenic and other heavy metals into the Mobile River.

This isn’t just a story. It’s a warning.
And it’s not over.

Watch the film. Sign the petition. Help remove the ash.
