This weekend we had the honor of working with Sherrard Fire in the passing of Retired Assistant Chief Nick Watson. They had a great Celebration of Life with an amazing turn out by both the community and surrounding departments.

Today, we went to the Iowa Firefighter Memorial in Iowa City. This is an annual ceremony that we have done for many years. We are proud to participate in it. Mike K*k, comes up from Louisiana to be the moderator. We have a group of motorcycles that come in from across the state meeting in various spots and then riding to the Memorial. It is so awesome to see and hear them come in. There is also an amazing entrance to the Memorial that the firefighters of Coralville with the truck on each side of 1st Ave.

From Commander K Doc Patterson Saturday, the Southeast Iowa Regional Fire Honor Guard, under my, delivered the home going service for Chief Collins and his family, friends & Seaton Fire Department. With the help of Brother and Sister Firefighters in the region. We made beautiful memories for them all.
We had dinner with the family, firefighters and community in Seaton. Mahalo to everyone who showed wonderful hospitality. Mahalo to Miss Irene who gave me the hook up with mini rhubarb pie. I’m a fan now. Godspeed to you all!
