Dr. Ryan Steen examining our little Charlie for a possible hip fracture. She came in with an abnormal looking gait and wanted to have her checked out. Xrays showed a possible older injury that had healed over creating what he called a slightly "wonky" style of walking. So she's OK and the sweetest little kitten you could possibly imagine.
Dr. Steen specializes in orthopedic surgeries, he's at Frey Pet Hospital in Cedar Rapids and is the Dr. that did Sully's surgery, the black cat you may recall who actually broke his hip. He recovered 100% with no residual limping or pain.

How can people resist these little guys? They are so adorable, and adoptable but so far no takers. They'd be perfect as a pair, healthy, happy and super playful, just what make kittens so irresistable.

We have four beautiful long haired tuxedo kittens for adoption. They are perfect in every way, please consider taking two home so they always have a friend.

Great group of volunteers from Aeron Tech who spent the day cleaning and beautifying our dog kennels and grounds. It wasn't easy work but they all pitched in like true champions. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work, enthusiasm, and generosity.

Many thanks to Candi Derderian for her generous donation of cat and kitten food for our shelter pets. Candi lives in Massachusetts and has run her own cat rescue for many years out of her home. She was one of our principal supporters during the trip we took to rescue pets after hurricane Katrina.

This sweet little boy hung around outside for weeks before finally coming into our cat enclosure. He stayed in that one place, eating, sleeping outside until one day he appeared at the window and came in the cat door. Now he hangs out inside most of the time, rolling around, very tame and happy, name is Chaplin, super nice cat and adoptable!

You've all seen pictures of Jerry on his many pilgrimages from Iowa City to visit us in Fairfield, bringing all kinds of wonderful gifts for the shelter pets. This time he's surrounded by another large box full of Advantage flea drops for the cats, on his lap are Temptations treats and stuck inside that are $100 dollar bills he's donating in addition to everything else.
There are two cases of different kinds of cat food and a large bag of dog treats. On board for the action are Selene (right) and Lark (left who you just saw in a previous post)
This kind hearted man donates to many shelters like ours and in his retirement seems to take no greater pleasure than to know that his gifts are helping rescued animals live a better life.
Our deepest appreciation for these special gifts that enrich our pets and help us with our expenses. Thank you so much Jerry!
