The Jefferson County Farm Bureau is proud to recognize Archer Kreuter, a senior at Fairfield High School, as one of this year’s Jefferson County Farm Bureau Scholarship recipients. Archer is the son of David and Michelle Kreuter and has demonstrated exceptional academic dedication, strong leadership abilities, and a deep commitment to agriculture and his community throughout his high school career.

He plans to attend Cornell College, where he will major in Business Economics and minor in Education. His mother and grandparents were raised on farms, and although Archer did not grow up on a farm himself, he has fond memories of visiting, watching harvest, and spending time with his grandfather. Following college, Archer plans to return to Fairfield. He hopes his business degree will open the door to a variety of career opportunities and allow him to stay involved in community activities and public events, continuing to give back to the place he calls home.

Jefferson County Farm Bureau is pleased to welcome Mike Dorothy as the newest member of the board. Mike resides in Fairfield with his wife, Rhonda, to whom he has been married for 20 years. Together, they have twin daughters, Zoe and Breeana, a son-in-law, and a son.

Mike has long been connected to agriculture, particularly during the fall harvest season. Over the years, he has assisted local farmers with harvesting, giving him hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the agriculture industry.
He has been a Farm Bureau member for several years in multiple counties. After moving to Fairfield, Mike transferred his membership to Jefferson County. During the fall, he attended Barnyard Bash with his employer, Agriland FS, where he gained firsthand experience with Jefferson County Farm Bureau events and learned more about how the organization serves the community.

Several months later, Jefferson County Farm Bureau board member Ryan Metz invited Mike to attend a board meeting. Following that experience, Mike decided to join the board.

Mike chose to serve on the board to further his involvement in the community. Through his work, he regularly collaborates with farmers and community members, and he saw board service as a meaningful way to continue supporting and strengthening the local agricultural community.

🌾Congratulations to Jim & Beverly Yule – 2026 Agriculture Award Recipients!🌾

The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 16, celebrating outstanding businesses and community leaders. Each year, the Jefferson County Farm Bureau proudly sponsors the Agriculture Award, and this year’s honor was presented to Jim and Beverly Yule.

Jim and Beverly began their farming journey in the late 1970s on their family farm near Packwood. Over the years, they have built a successful row crop and swine operation while leading the way in conservation and soil health practices. From transitioning all acres to no-till in 1998 to incorporating cover crops and conservation structures across their farms, Jim and Beverly have remained committed to caring for the land for future generations.

Jefferson County Farm Bureau President Jason Steele was honored to present the award, recognizing the Yules’ decades of stewardship, innovation, and leadership in agriculture.
