Stratfield Village Association

Stratfield Village Association The Stratfield Village Association was established to preserve, protect and improve the character of the Stratfield Village neighborhood of Fairfield, CT

Fifteen years ago the Stratfield Village Association was established to help protect the character of our neighborhood when the future of the Stratfield Market was in question and after a successful fight, the SVA disbanded by 2012. In 2016 the SVA was restarted by new leadership and a new board as a registered 501 c3 non-profit. The SVA is here to be a representative voice of our community with d

evelopers, town, state and local officials to ensure these developments have a positive effect on our neighborhood. Additionally, the SVA strives to build a strong sense of community in Stratfield through a community events and acts as an online gathering place for the neighborhood to share opinions and work together for positive change in Stratfield.

Calling all K-12 creators! We are looking for original Poetry and Visual Art that captures “The Pulse of the American Promise."

Think about the American values that mean the most to you: Freedom, Community, Courage, Opportunity, Equality…

What does "Freedom" look like on a Tuesday afternoon in your neighborhood?
Where do you see "Community" in action at your school or kitchen table?
What “Courage” will you need in your daily life to continue the promise of America?
Give us a snapshot of your world. Show us how you see the continuing thread of what it means to be American in your life.

Submissions due June 1!

STRATFIELD VILLAGE ASSOCIATION NOW RESPONSIBLE FOR MONTHLY NEIGHBORHOOD CAN AND BOTTLE DRIVE- All proceeds to go towards improvements in the Stratfield neighborhood

After sixteen years, the Stratfield Fire Department has handed over the reins of the monthly can and bottle drive held on the second Saturday of each month to the Stratfield Village Association. Due to retirements in the fire department the drive was going to end, but SVA leadership met with the leaders of the fire department and volunteered to keep this Stratfield tradition going. The monthly drive, held on the morning of the second Saturday of each month will continue as it has, with the Stratfield Fire Department continuing to be the donation center, and the SVA board and volunteers will now handle the work. All proceeds generated by the drive will now go towards the SVA and its many initiatives to improve and beautify our neighborhood.

The SVA board recently helped on the March drive and were shown the ropes of the collection and recycling process by the Stratfield Fire Department. The SVA would like to thank the leaders of the Stratfield Fire Department for providing this very useful service for over sixteen years and generously handing it over to the SVA for the continued benefit of our neighborhood. The SVA encourages all Stratfield residents to collect and save their bottles and cans and drop them off at the shed behind Fire Station #3 located on Jackman Ave across from Lincoln Park between 9am and 12 noon on the second Saturday of each month.

Thank you Stratfield for your continued support, this bottle and can drive will provide the SVA with much needed revenue while helping to keep our neighborhood clean and beautiful!

The Town of Fairfield has undertaken the development of the Climate Resilience and Flood Mitigation Plan to proactively address the growing challenges posed by increasing inland and coastal flooding and coastal erosion. This town-wide initiative is focused on understanding our vulnerabilities, evaluating present and future risks, and identifying priorities, and practical, community-supported flood mitigation strategies and costs to protect Fairfield’s neighborhoods, infrastructure, and natural resources.

Come and learn about the results of the present and future flood risk analysis, how we are prioritizing both coastal and inland sites for flood mitigation projects, and the toolbox of strategies we will be considering. We look forward to your input on which areas to explore in the next phase of this project.
