Fairfield First Fridays Art Walk There is always something fantastic going on during 1st Fridays Art Walk. Fairfield First Fridays Mission is to Celebrate Creativity, Culture and Community.

Whether you enjoy touring art galleries, tasting incredible foods, watching wonderful performances; there is something for everyone! CREATIVITY:To continue to develop Fairfield First Fridays as a diverse celebration of all art forms: visual, performing, literary, film, ethnic and historical, accessible to all ages and cultures. CULTURE: To continue to seek new ways to enhance Fairfield’s cultural

community by creating arts-related employment, education, expression and development. COMMUNITY: To enhance quality of live within the community of Fairfield through the facilitation of events that encourages individuals and organizations to collaborate and celebrate within the community. It has been through these events that Art Walk has become a significant contributor to Fairfield’s economic development by attracting visitors and tourism generating increased local spending; yet is another powerful way that Fairfield First Fridays has impacted and improved the quality of the community.

Join Fairfield First Fridays, June 5th, for the first outdoor event of the season. Fairfield First Fridays is having a Party in Central Park, with live music, lawn games, vendors, artists, and some community togetherness.

There will be live music by The Roman Cadillacs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., enjoy some Rock n’ Roll from a great, local Fairfield band. Collector Cars Unlimited will have a car cruise from 5-8pm on the square that night as well!

This year there will be the usual lawn games, Giant Jenga, Outdoor Connect Four, the giant foam building blocks and other activities. Bring your friends for a little friendly competition! Come celebrate the warmer weather, enjoy Central Park and the Fairfield Square.

There will be many galleries, shops and restaurants open, a few are listed below:

Americus Gallery-100 W. Burlington Ave. - Americus Gallery will be showing Christopher Kufner's original oil paintings, featuring Italian/French Landscapes, and Figurative works. Also, showing original oil paintings by Kim Kufner, original graphite works of art by Dale Divoky featuring his koi fish designs, Original watercolor and ink paintings by Genevra Bell, Art Glass Vases by David Lotton, Leaping Koi sculptures by Dale Divoky, many beautiful new beaded Mala’s and necklaces designed by Kim Kufner, Kristin Ford’s Jewelry with Meaning, many of which are one of a kind,, and Custom dichroic glass jewelry by Pedro Lujano. Also, beautiful New Crystals for your home available for purchase from our recent buying trip! Gallery Hours: Wednesday - Thursday 11 – 5, ArtWalk Friday 11 - 8 (normally Friday is 11 - 5), Saturday 11 – 3.

Cindy's Art Supply Store and Gallery -53 W. Broadway Ave. open from 1 - 5, and again from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Many of the artists in the Square One Arts collective have changed out their art, so there's lots of new pieces to view Always a great place to stop in, grab your supplies and see all of the new pieces! A special going on with Bill Hurlin’s bracelets and earrings. Each $100 purchase of art supplies gets the customer a choice of one of Bill’s handmade bracelets. A $75 purchase of art supplies gets the customer a choice of one pair of Bill’s handmade earrings. Many other art supplies are on-sale, as well.

Fairfield Art Association (Inside the Civic Center)- Fairfield Art Association is adding "A Practice in Shape" Blown Glass Works by artisan Samantha Treankler to the current Main Gallery wall Exhibit by the Iowa Art Quilters & Fiber Artists. Treankler is an apprentice to artist Tim Blair at Bloom & Bark Glass blowing in Keosauqua, Iowa. The show opens Friday June 5 in the Main Gallery at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center , with an artist reception from 6 - 8;30 PM.
The Summer Art Installation "Firecracker" celebrating our country's 250th Anniversary will also open on June 6th with 20 art creations by local artists and groups. The display will be downtown around the square & up Main Street for the summer. Hickenbottom Inc donated the PVC pipes for this project. Artists include Shelley Urban and her father Tom, Phoebe Fiedler, Mike Pech, Suzan Kessel, FHS Art Student, Chaz Alley, Mendy McAdams & Hayden, Claire Reid, Connie Boyer, Jeanne Skopin, Gigi Gifts & Signs, Chuck & Terri Drobny, Victoria Rose, Ashley Worley & 1st Baptist Church, Colin Faulkner. Several artists are working on two pipes.

Foxy Curation’s- 52 S. Main St. Always a fun store, so many unique and fun gift items, as well as home décor, books, and more. Open until 9pm on Friday.

GG’s Signs and Designs- 51 W. Broadway Ave #102 GG's will be open from 10am to 9pm! There will be a sale on Gail’s pieces (10% off), along with some of the other vendors.

ICON Gallery- 58 N. Main St. Continuing in the Main Gallery: "Selections" A selection of diverse works by well-known to unknown, globally known to locally known, living and dead. Curator, Bill Teeple, had fun choosing works from the ICON permanent collection, local artists and local collectors. Opening in the Hudson Gallery at ICON: "Paintings From Two Worlds" Shiva Linga paintings from the ICON Collection and paintings by Robert Hoerlein inspired by ICON's Shiva Linga paintings. First Friday hours: 6:30 to 10:00.

Vino Del Mundo- 56 S. Main St. Open from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and we will have SUMMER WINES BY THE GLASS FOR SALE, as well as all our wines by the bottle to enjoy. Kens birthday Week so 10% off all Champagne on FRIDAY !!

Willow & Bright-58 S. Main St. Summer Kickoff- Shopping, discounts, refreshments & more! Open late.

Saturday Activities-
The Gordon Maney Memorial Dodge Truck Reunion. A line up of vintage Dodge Power Wagons will take over the downtown square at 10am Saturday!
