About The Management Club
As members of the Management Club, we do things differently. Instead, we promote innovation, leadership, creativity, teamwork, and student enthusiasm. This is a student-run club that runs on student-generated ideas a
nd innovative projects. Our activities this year include: the Entepreneurship Competition held in the Spring, a possible visit to the Pez factory in Milford CT to watch how the production process takes place (and we plan on eating and buying some candy) and even the possibility of developing a mobile app! Photos from Leadership Service Projects in Mg 240 are catalogued here on this page. We also are a SHRM chapter – that’s the Society of Human Resource Management – and members of the Management Cub can attend events with official Human Resource managers throughout the year. To that end, we have created, with student input, some creative and innovative titles for our Officers:
Officers of the Management Club 2013-2014
Vice Presidents of Social Media Outreach:
Sean Dunphy, Jerry Bivona, Casey Valente, James Sharpe, Marilynn Lopez
Check out Students 411, the Mgmnt page, and all the posters around campus. These are the students who let the world know what we are doing and when. Vice Presidents of Transportation and Logistics:
Evan Richardson, Brian Hendrie, Robert Spina
These students hold the very important responsibility of getting pizza/popcorn/candy for our meetings, and sometimes they have to send maps to panelists so they can find us at the university or pick up a panelist at the train. Vice Presidents of Procurement and Reconciliation:
Miles Saunders, Christina Merrifield, Jennifer Estanislau
These students help get receipts for pizza and sometimes help with fundraising as checks need to be cut for charitable events. They also have the unenviable job of helping Professor Mainiero deal with university bureaucracy on swipe cards and if we collect money for charity. (The money must be deposited in a university account, then we must pry it away for the charitable event for which it was intended….so we send a lot of emails.) Vice Presidents of Event Planning:
Monica Yajima, Bianca Noll, Mark Bondonaro, Sharissa Ryan
These students coordinate events by reminding all of us we need to figure things out before an event takes place. Their main job is to offer suggestions as to how to get things done on campus and maybe even make things happen. Rotating Co-Presidents:
Mary Grace DeSantis, Christopher Merone, Robert LoPinto
Chief head honchos for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 who innovate, manage, and lead. Dr. Mainiero has elevated Sean Dunphy to the position of Co-President of the Management Club! Nick O'Connell is now VP of Publicity- The Mirror Liaison for The Management Club! Advisor: Professor Lisa Mainiero, Rm 1111, School of Business [email protected]/[email protected]
That’s us. Truth is, we don’t stand on titles. Instead, in the spirit of true teamwork, we help each other do everything we can. So sometimes we just jump in, lead, manage, and get things done as needed. Whoever is available helps to organize and run each event. We each are leaders in our own right, running events, sharing the word about our exciting and innovative Club, and together we make things happen on campus. Members of Mg 240 Leading and Managing People
As a member of Mg 240, you are automatically enrolled in the Management Club page! We are a fun and exciting group and we have many possibilities for activities planned this year. But we need new ideas for next year as well. If you’d like to join us and become an Officer, great! Professor Mainiero is looking for junior Management majors/minors who want to help organize events for 2014. So just mention your interest to the prof and she will make sure you have a position of event responsibility – yes, you too can become an Officer and member of the Management Club! (And- you receive points credit for attendance at any of these events if you are currently in Mg 240 as an added incentive.) So what’s stopping you! Join in by attending our first HR Panel on November 5th – and see how you can help us through leadership service, creativity, and innovative ideas! See Professor M for more details.
