It is with a heavy heart we inform you of the loss of Randall Scott Holt, known to all of us as Randy. Randy passed at home at 2:15 pm on July 19, 2025, attended by his older brother Kevin Holt of Kennewick and his fraternity big sister, Robyn Lampert of Spokane. Randy was the youngest of the four Holt Brothers. A fifth-generation Centennial farmer he had been farming the 1881 family homestead in Fairfield Washington with his brother, Chris Holt of Worley. Randy was diagnosed with advanced cancer in April 2025 and finally succumbed to complications with kidney failure.
Randy was able to spend his final days at home, attended by a close community of local farm family friends as well as his brothers Kevin and Chris Holt, niece Angie Holt of Moscow, honorary nephew Matt Lindquist of Moscow, and grandnieces Mina and Katy Holt of Moscow. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the Miami Dolphins lost their most devoted and dedicated fan.
Although he was bedridden for his final days, he remained lucid and alert to farming details and family until the end. Molly, his Australian Cattle Dog and devoted companion watched over him for the duration of his illness and ensured that he never lacked for companionship or affection.
A memorial is being planned for after harvest, more details will follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Fairfield Washington cemetery association or the Worley Historical Society.
