** Solano County **
The Solano County Black Chamber of Commerce received a number of emails and calls, and we are aware of the deeply disturbing video currently circulating within our community regarding the 16 year old student at Fairfield High School.
As mothers, fathers, leaders, and community members, many of us felt an overwhelming sense of pain and heartbreak while watching. Regardless of differing opinions or perspectives, this is a tragic and emotional situation that impacts real people, real families, and an entire community.
No matter the outcome, lives will be forever changed. Trauma, emotional scars, and difficult questions will remain long after the headlines and social media conversations fade.
Our hearts go out to the young man, his family, and everyone directly impacted as they navigate this incredibly painful and uncertain time. We understand the community’s desire for clarity, answers, and accountability, and we hope those questions are addressed with honesty, transparency, and care.
At the same time, we encourage our community not to allow pain, anger, or emotion to divide us further. Moments like these should challenge all of us to come together with empathy, compassion, and a shared commitment to preventing future tragedies from occurring.
Law enforcement and the community must work together — we need each other. Building trust, communication, accountability, and mutual respect is essential if we truly want safer and stronger communities for everyone.
We must continue having difficult conversations, supporting one another, and working collectively toward solutions that strengthen trust, safety, understanding, and healing throughout our community.
The Solano County Black Chamber of Commerce remains committed to advocating for unity, humanity, and constructive dialogue during difficult times.
