This year’s Respect for Law Camp was another incredible success!

Respect for Law Camp is a unique program for youth ages 11–14 that provides an opportunity to spend a weekend alongside first responders while gaining insight into the important work they do every day. Throughout the camp, participants interact with law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and team-building experiences.

More importantly, campers learn and practice the five pillars of Law Camp: Kindness, Spirit, Teamwork, Leadership, and Respect. These core values help shape character, build confidence, and encourage positive relationships both during camp and long after it ends.

We are proud to share this year’s camp video, which highlights the experiences, challenges, friendships, and memories that made the weekend so special. Thank you to all of the first responders, volunteers, sponsors, and campers who helped make this year’s Respect for Law Camp an unforgettable experience.

Building future leaders, strengthening communities, and fostering respect—one camper at a time. 💙🚔🚒🚑📞

Recognizing Outstanding Service and Community Engagement

This past weekend, School Resource Officer Todd Adamson, Police Officer Dylan Miller, and Sergeant Kevin Mack proudly participated in Respect for Law Camp, a unique program designed for youth ages 11–14 that fosters understanding, respect, and appreciation for first responders.

Throughout the weekend, campers had the opportunity to interact directly with law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers while gaining firsthand insight into the important roles they serve within our communities. Participants engaged in a variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations, including building searches, rappelling, CPR instruction, and other educational events designed to promote teamwork, leadership, and public service.

The members of FOP 166 would like to commend Officer Adamson, Officer Miller, and Sergeant Mack for their dedication to this outstanding program. Their willingness to invest their time, knowledge, and mentorship into the next generation reflects the very best of our profession. Through their service, they represented both FOP 166 and the Fairfield Police Department with professionalism, integrity, and pride, while helping to inspire young people and shine a positive light on the noble calling of public safety.

Thank you for your commitment to our community and for making a lasting impact on the lives of these young participants.

Today, FOP 166 pauses to honor and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.

Because of them, we are able to live freely, love deeply, and pursue our dreams each day. We are forever grateful to those who gave everything in service to this country and to the families who carry their legacy forward.

May we never forget the true meaning of sacrifice. 🇺🇸

There are some losses that reach far beyond words, and today we mourn one of those losses with the passing of retired K9 Scout.

For nearly seven years, Scout stood beside Officer Larsh as a trusted teammate, guardian, and constant source of strength while serving the Fairfield community. From the first day they began working together in 2016 until Scout’s retirement in 2023, the two shared a partnership forged through countless hours of training, service, sacrifice, and loyalty.

Those within law enforcement know that a police K9 is never “just a dog.” They become a part of every shift, every call, and every moment in between. They protect without hesitation, serve without complaint, and love without condition. The connection between a handler and their K9 is one built on trust that cannot truly be explained unless you have lived it yourself.

Scout carried out his duties with heart, courage, and unwavering devotion. His presence brought comfort to fellow officers, protection to the community, and pride to everyone who had the honor of serving alongside him. His impact on the Fairfield Police Department and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #166 will continue to be felt long after his watch has ended.

Today, we honor not only Scout’s service, but the life of a faithful companion whose dedication never wavered.

Thank you, Scout, for every sacrifice made in silence, every life protected, and every moment of loyalty you gave so freely.

Your watch may be over, but your memory will forever remain with us.

Rest peacefully, Scout.
