In observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, VEST will be closed today, Monday, October 12, 2026.

Today, we honor and recognize the rich history, cultures, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous communities.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Thank you to the Solano County Board of Supervisors for your DV Proclamation yesterday. DV is on the rise in Vallejo and accounts for two-thirds of violent crime here (!), according to recent police statements. Domestic violence thrives in silence. This is a month to unite in the work to end domestic violence, raise awareness, fund prevention, support our community's DV advocates, and honor victims and survivors. The countdown is officially ON! Join VEST + IHART this Saturday for our 3rd Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month Walk/Stroll & Empowerment Fair at the beautiful Vallejo Marina.

This is more than a walk. It’s a day for our community to come together to raise awareness, amplify survivor voices, honor those impacted by domestic violence, and remind survivors that they do not stand alone.

👑 We’re excited to have Carmel Sosa! Miss Congeniality, The Mom of Many Crowns, hosting our event!

💜 OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH (DVAM)💜

Today, VEST was honored to attend the Kaiser Fairfield DVAM Event alongside amazing speakers, advocates, and community partners committed to raising awareness and standing with survivors.

Our Executive Director and Ms. Solano County chose Domestic Violence Awareness & Survivor Empowerment as her platform because it represents her purpose and the mission of VEST. This title gives VEST another opportunity to use our voices to educate, advocate, raise awareness, and empower survivors 👑💜

DID YOU KNOW?
Leaving an abusive relationship doesn’t mean the impact of the abuse ends. CDC data found that nearly 5.5 million women continued to experience effects related to past intimate partner violence, even though the violence had not occurred within the previous year.

Survivors may continue to face emotional, physical, financial, and safety-related impacts long after the abuse. That’s why long-term, trauma-informed support matters.
