In late May, the Mill River Wetland Committee was thrilled to host Barnum School students for our very first Biodiversity at Mill Hollow Park study trip program funded through the Restore America's Estuaries Long Island Sound Community Impact Fund.
With amazing weather, enthusiastic students, and plenty of wildlife to discover, the program rounded out the final phase of our expansion efforts for the 2025–2027 grant funding period.. Over three class study trips, students explored wetlands, observed biodiversity firsthand, and gained a deeper understanding of the ecosystem’s role in supporting many life forms.
✔️ 3 study trips
✔️ Engaged students full of curiosity and excitement
✔️ 16 parents and support staff involved
✔️ 4 MRWC program leaders per trip
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make these field experiences so successful!
