Fairfax Art League The Fairfax Art League (FAL) is a vibrant organization comprised of local and regional artists coming together to celebrate the arts! Wood complex.

We are a 501c3 organization. Most of our events are free and open to the public. The Fairfax Art League was founded in 1986 by six artists exhibiting their work as a group in the John C. In 1987 the six artists, after much consideration about the name this new group should adopt (Guild, Club, etc.), chose The Fairfax Art League. League was selected since League, by definition, is a covenant betwee

n persons. In our case the covenant is to promote art in the community. In 1988, the League applied for incorporation through the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts resulting in the League's incorporation as a Non Profit Corporation in February 1989. In the years since its inception the League's membership has grown to over 100. Our Galleries:
Currently Old Town Hall is under renovation and our gallery there is closed. Fairfax Art League exhibits at venues around the city. We have an ongoing show at The Church of the Good Shepherd and the City of Fairfax Regional Library. We have opened a new gallery: the Kathryn Higgins Art Gallery and Studio.

Our next member spotlight is Erin Sinclair! Erin runs the social media accounts for FAL and assists with marketing. Originally from Fairfax county, Erin is currently a student at the University of Virginia, where she’s studying Behavioral Neuroscience on the pre-med track. Erin also works as an EMT and Patient Care Technician in Charlottesville!
As an artist, Erin specializes in acrylic painting. She joined FAL to connect with a community of artists and is eager to help this community grow. You can see her art and photography at Erin 🎨 🌸🌻🌺🌷🌼🪻🪷

Our second member spotlight features our Fairfax Art League President, Robert Sinclair! Robert is from Pittsburgh and now works as an economist here in Fairfax; he enjoys painting, playing baseball, and travelling with his family. He specializes in painting landscapes with water-miscible oils. Robert joined FAL to meet other artists and learn more about painting, and especially enjoys meeting other FAL members at art exhibit receptions and Board meetings! Kicking off our new series of FAL Member Highlights with of our newer members, Morgan Parr! Morgan is an artist, mom, and preschool teacher. She has quite a diversified art portfolio, specializing in printmaking, marker/drawing, resin craft, jewelry, painting, collage, photography, and more! She is also a board member for Del Ray Artisans and curates 1-2 exhibits per year. Morgan says that “my biggest inspirations are Yayoi Kusama and Miss Frizzle. People who know me or are around me for any breadth of time will definitely hear me day, ‘there is no such thing as perfection.’” Morgan’s favorite part of the Fairfax Art League is the welcoming community environment.
