What if a child with hydrocephalus could receive life-saving treatment without depending on a lifelong shunt?

That's the idea behind the Warf Procedure, an innovative approach developed by Dr. Benjamin Warf. Known clinically as ETV/CPC, it allows many children to be treated without lifelong shunt dependence by restoring a more natural flow of cerebrospinal fluid. By reducing reliance on complex follow-up care and medical infrastructure, it has helped make life-saving hydrocephalus treatment more accessible to children in some of the world's most resource-constrained settings.

Today, the procedure is helping expand access to safe, effective hydrocephalus treatment for kids around the world. 🌍🧠

Sustainability starts with strong local health systems 🌍

At NeuroKids, we partner with hospitals, surgeons and care teams to build lasting capacity for children with hydrocephalus and spina bifida. By investing in local expertise rather than short-term solutions, we're helping expand access to life-saving care while reducing costs over time.

The result? More trained providers. Stronger health systems. More children receiving the care they need closer to home. đź§

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate mothers like Aisha. 💙

At just 20 years old, Aisha was preparing to become a first-time mother while navigating serious health challenges of her own. Shortly after giving birth, she learned her newborn son, Onore, had hydrocephalus.

Faced with fear and uncertainty, Aisha remained determined to get her son the care he needed.

With support from the NeuroKids and Mulago National Referral Hospital teams in Uganda, Onore received the Warf procedure, an innovative treatment that is helping change the future of hydrocephalus care for children around the world.

Today, Aisha continues to show up for her son every day with love, resilience, and hope for his future.

This Mother’s Day, we honor mothers everywhere whose strength and determination help children overcome incredible challenges. 🌍💙

We’re so close.

Today, we set out to raise $1,000 to support families like Joyce’s—and every dollar is still being DOUBLED.

When Joyce’s son needed life-saving care, NeuroKids was there. Jason received the surgery he needed because people showed up.

But there are more parents—right now—facing the same fear, the same uncertainty, the same impossible decisions.

They’re still waiting for someone to show up for them.

đź’› Before today ends, you can be that person.

Help NeuroKids continue to provide life-saving care to children and hope for the parents fighting for them.

Where are Joyce’s flowers?

Every day, she works in the flower farms of Naivasha, nurturing fragile plants so they can grow and bloom beautifully for others.

But when her own son needed care… everything changed.

After losing her husband, Joyce became everything for her children. Then her newborn son Jason was diagnosed with spina bifida. He underwent surgery. Then his head began to swell.

Hydrocephalus.

A second diagnosis. A second fight.

“I felt alone and frustrated,” Joyce shared.

But she didn’t give up. And she didn’t have to fight alone. NeuroKids was there. Because of that care, Jason received the procedure he needed.

Today, he has a chance because his mother never gave up on him and someone showed up.

đź’› Today, you can be that someone for another family. Every dollar is DOUBLED until we reach $1,000.

Let’s be the flowers Joyce needed and make sure more parents don’t have to face this alone.

Not all superheroes wear capes.

Some become everything their child needs…overnight.

Today, on National Superhero Day, we’re honoring parents like Joyce—a mother of four who never stopped fighting for her son.

After losing her husband, Joyce welcomed baby Jason into the world.
But instead of celebration, she was met with devastating news: Jason was born with spina bifida. He needed surgery. Then came another diagnosis: hydrocephalus.

That’s when NeuroKids stepped in.

Through expert care and life-saving treatment, Jason received the surgery he needed.

Because when parents like Joyce fight for their children, they shouldn’t have to do it alone.

đź’™ Today only: Every dollar you give will be DOUBLED until we reach $1,000.
Your gift helps NeuroKids show up for families in their hardest moments and helps children like Jason get a second chance.

This National Superhero Day, we’re telling a different kind of story.

Not about capes or costumes but about the people who show up, day after day, for their children.

The ones navigating the unknown.
The ones asking questions, making decisions, and holding everything together.

On April 28, we’re honoring the real superheroes behind every child we serve—and inviting you to stand with them.

Stay tuned. đź’›
