Let's hear it for Nate, the son of our member, Karen! We are proud of you!

The countdown to graduation continues! Our penultimate senior, but second to none.

Many of our readers will recognize our next senior from the stage at one of our fantastic FX Players performances.

Nate Wheeler Smith, a Daniels Run ES alum and future Nittany Lion, is one of the premier student actors in our region. He is a multi-Cappies, Glammies, and Brandon Victor Dixon Awards nominee, and he won a Cappie for his performance in Anastasia in 2024 — as just a sophomore. This year, he won three Glammies for his work on Matilda and is nominated for three Cappies awards for Something Rotten! Next year, Nate will continue studying musical theatre at Penn State.

Bravo, Nate! We have loved watching you shine on stage!

It has been a great year at the Fairfax United Methodist Preschool and we now will let the children soar onto new places! As our past GFWC Virginia state president Susie Mowery says, "We soar by lifting others!"

Our club members have enjoyed our time with the children. What a fun year to soar with these young ones!

As with all of our visits, we read books, had fun with puppets and did some creative art projects!

We had a busy meeting last night. In addition to all of our regular business, we had some special highlights!

🎉Welcome aboard to our newest member, Jamie Chamberlin!

💙Thank you to City of Fairfax Police Department Chief Pedroso, Captain Hawkins and Sgt. Dee for joining us and sharing your community engagement initiatives. We love supporting, and collaborating with, our men and women in blue!

🤩Congratulations to Maryann Clary and Mary Driver Downs for being recognized at the GFWC Virginia convention for chartering our new juniorette club. Also, all of our new members who joined in 2025 received their GFWC Virginia new member certificates from our club member, Yvonne Sening, outgoing President of Northern District GFWC Virginia

🏆Big congrats to Maryann Clary for being chosen our Volunteer of the Year for the upcoming InterService Club Council (ISCC) awards (to be given in August).

🚒It was a big day for Maryann after getting to sit in the Tower Ladder and spray the fire hose at Fire Station 3 with our pals in the City of Fairfax Fire Department! Way to go, Maryann!

We delivered some treats this morning to our friends in the City of Fairfax Fire Department in honor of International Firefighters' Day!

We had so much fun getting a demonstration of the new Tower Ladder 403 as well as getting to operate one of the Foam Engine 403 hoses.

We so appreciate everything our fire department personnel do to keep all of us safe! Thanks for having us!! ❤️🚒
