Amanda Krpan is staying busy! She just sent us this following update:

I have been working on putting together another Women On Target event for the past couple of months, and yesterday was the actual clinic! It was great to do this clinic again in this community and I already have women asking me to put on more! I worked in conjunction with Harry Beckwith Gun and Range and Michelle Pickett on this one! Michelle is THE leading lady of fi****ms in the Gainesville community. We had 17 participants shooting three different caliber handguns at various stations in her indoor range. The event was a huge success and I look forward to putting on more in the future!

Calling all high school sophomores and juniors: Start your applications for the NRA Youth Education Summit, a weeklong trip to Washington, District of Columbia courtesy of the NRA where you'll learn about the United States government and compete for scholarships.

The deadline for 2014's summit is February 1, 2014. Get a jump on things and start now!

Forty-five outstanding current high school sophomores and juniors from across the United States are chosen each year to travel to the nation’s capital, where they participate in the weeklong educational opportunity. The summit encourages young adults to become active and knowledgeable U.S. citizens by learning about the Constitution and Bill of Rights, the federal government, and the importance of being active in civic affairs. Update from 2011 Y.E.S. Alumna Amanda Krpan:

I wanted to share this picture with you. I went to Baton Rouge this weekend to cheer on my Florida Gators football team and met up with LSU band member Daniel Wendt! I hadn't seen him since Y.E.S. 2011 and we only were able to spend a short amount of time catching up, but I thought I would share a picture with you and any other Y.E.S. counselors that shared that amazing week with us in 2011. I think about the Y.E.S. every day and how it has impacted my life. I am so thankful the NRA offers such an amazing program that fosters respect and education for politics, constitutional rights, and fi****ms. I hope this program continues to enrich the lives of more high schoolers for decades to come. Thank you again for putting on such a beautiful, educational, and life changing program.
