"Today, 9-11, marks the 39th anniversary of the CIA backed coup of Salvador Allende, the democratically elected president of Chile. The brutal coup was organized by the U.S. government and the Chilean military. With the support of the U.S. government, Augusto Pinochet took and maintained power for 17 years. His rein was marked by some of the worst human rights violations in the history of Latin America. Pinochet’s dictatorship, again with U.S. support, massacred over 3,000, tortured over 29,000, detained over 250,000 in concentration like prisons, and forced over 200,000 into exile, to say nothing of the decreased wages, and the rise of economic inequality. The Chicago Teacher's Union (CTU) is asking for several million dollars to fix old and dilapidated schools that lack basic air conditioning and libraries. Mayor Rahm Emmanuel has committed the city of Chicago to spending upwards of $25 MILLION to increase police patrols and otherwise break the CTU. Who really cares about our children? SUPPORT THE CTU IN THEIR STRIKE FOR BETTER EDUCATION!!

Mayor Rahm Emmanuel and his lackeys at Chicago Public Schools want to close these schools and give them away to private charter schools. Who is really looking out for our children? Support the CTU! We Socialists and Anarchists disagree on matters of analysis and political practice, but we as radical leftists have common cause in the overthrow of the capitalist regime and the resistance against police oppression. What wounds one militant leftist must wound all, because we show a united front against the system which needs replacing. The police are despicable, disgusting slave masters and servants to the exploiter ruling class. This incident is especially disgusting and vile, and it is A CALL TO ACTION:

The ruling class and the enforcers of their property interests must be resisted at all costs. It is your obligation as a progressive to become involved in whatever capacity you are able in the struggle for the liberation and emancipation of the working classes of the planet. As per the Anarchist slogan: "Agitate, Educate, Organize."

On May 24th 30-40 people answered the call for a Chicago solidarity demo through the downtown St. Louis bar district.
