Island Watch Conservation Science

Island Watch Conservation Science Island Watch is a worldwide coalition of toxicologists, conservationists and citizens that are concerned about the exploitation of island ecosystems.

Island ecosystems around the world are vulnerable to attack from multiple sources. For example, Hawaii is "Ground Zero" for open air testing of experimental pesticides and GMOs. Other islands around the world such as the Farallon Islands ouside San Francisco, CA, Stewart Island in NZ and Lord Howe Island are being targeted for island eradication projects which involve using helicopters to carpet b

omb wilderness areas with unprecedented amounts of brodifacoum (rat poison.) Because of the remote locations of these islands and lack of oversight, many island ecosystems are ripe for corruption. The beautiful country of New Zealand is under attack by its own Dept of Conservation which continually drops 1080 and brodifacoum across wilderness areas and farming communities. As a watchdog agency "Island Watch" helps to shine a much needed light on the highly controversial pesticide practices by Island Conservation, NZ's Dept of Conservation and the biotech industry. Island Watch is a project of MarinLink and all donations are fully tax deductible.
