🏐 In Loving Memory of Bryant R. Dunetz

It is with deep sadness that the Side-Out Foundation family mourns the passing of Bryant R. Dunetz, a true pioneer of our research mission and a man whose spirit lives in every breakthrough we've achieved together.

Bryant didn't just believe in what we were building, he lived it. His famous words, "Ya never know," weren't just a catchphrase. They were a philosophy. A call to action. A reminder that when you try, when you dare, when you show up…you just might surprise yourself.

Because of Bryant's vision and courage, we tried. And together, we have been endlessly surprised at what is possible.

His legacy isn't just in the research he helped pioneer, it's in every patient, every family, every moment of hope that Side-Out has been part of.

🌟 In his honor, Bryant's son Rick Dunetz will be investing in and developing a STEM and Fellowship Program in the names of his parents Bryant and Gloria Dunetz dedicated to inspiring the next generation of young changemakers who dream of making a difference in the world of cancer research and beyond. Because if Bryant taught us anything, it's that the future belongs to those who are willing to try.

Ya never know what one person's belief can set in motion. Bryant knew. And now we carry that forward for him.

Rest easy, Bryant. We've got it from here. 💛

More tomorrows. That's the goal.

Dr. Mariaelena Pierobon is developing precision medicine — treatments built around individual patients, not just the disease. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, her research works to understand what's driving cancer at the molecular level in each person, so treatment can target it directly. Her work is rewriting what's possible for people living with metastatic breast cancer.

This is what the volleyball community makes possible.
