Hi allllll - Kookie’s Crew and The Winston and Carley 'We Care' Group are dedicated to honoring both Carley and Winston DeSimone Turnbull with acts of kindness. Since it’s the season for giving we’d like to highlight the Chasing Sunshine Dog Rescue organization because they are doing all they can to help find doggies a loving home. My partner-in-crime for the We Care group Margaret DeSimone adopted her darling Huey from Chasing Sunshine who brought the puppy all the way from Texas to the east coast. As my partner in crime for this page Margaret DeSimone calls it, I had a ‘God wink’ moment this past week. I was on my way to dinner with a few friends and walked past a new restaurant called ‘Kook Dog Cafe’. Kookie/Kook/Kookie Boo-boo/Kooks was my nickname for Carley hence my Kookie’s Crew page. I saw they sold tshirts so I went in to buy one and ended up talking to one of the managers for close to 30 minutes. We exchanged stories about our dogs and a few tears were shed. It’s amazing how strangers can be reduced to tears without fear of judgement when talking about a beloved dog. Anyway I love my new tshirt and I encourage everyone to visit this new locally-owned restaurant in Reston. I see you my sweet Carley.

Please consider donating to Tri City Paws. They are a rescue out of Kentucky who does a lot for doggies and kitties in the Appalachia area. The rescue is full and they are in need of dog food. Venmo is -Caudill.

Yesterday was Miss Carley’s birthday. Instead of moping around all day I met up with her auntie DeSimone and we raised a glass in honor of Carley and Winston. We also exchanged a bunch of ‘stuff’ for the different organizations we help out in New Jersey and Virginia. We are keeping the legacies of our fur babies alive. There’s been lots of giving going on over the past few months in memory of my Miss Kookie Carley and as part of The Winston and Carley 'We Care' Group. First we dropped some supplies off at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. Next was donating food for the Food For Neighbors organization and I’m still on the lookout and collecting vases to help out an organization which provides flowers to hospices.

Special shoutout to Sisson Truluck, Ted Stevens, 412 Rally peeps, Aaron Schaeffer for donating dog toys, food, vases etc.

Thanks also to my partner in crime on this adventure Margaret DeSimone and Carley’s brother Winston DeSimone Turnbull. We sure had some special puppies!

For the @412 Rally group hopefully you all will be as generous this year as last so we can help the sweet puppies who are looking for their furever homes.
