As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, MOVE Business Chamber is proud to recognize Supervisor Andres Jimenez, Mason District Supervisor and member of the MOVE Advisory Board.

Born in Colombia and raised in the United States, Supervisor Jimenez has built a career centered on public service, leadership, advocacy, and community engagement. Today, he represents Mason District on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors as the district’s first immigrant and Latino Supervisor.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we recognize Supervisor Jimenez and celebrate the generations of Hispanic leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and community members whose contributions continue to strengthen Northern Virginia.

After nearly two years of planning and collaboration, MOVE Business Chamber is excited to announce the launch of a new Cyber & AI workforce development project, beginning October 1.

Thanks to the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), this initiative will help bridge the gap between education and the workforce by creating opportunities for students to apply their skills to real-world business challenges.

For employers, it creates a way to engage emerging talent while contributing to the development of the next generation of Virginia’s workforce.

As the project gets underway, MOVE will bring together industry, education, and government partners to help shape its direction and future growth.

As Workforce Development Month comes to a close, we’re proud to take this next step and grateful to everyone who has helped bring this project to life.

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, MOVE Business Chamber is proud to highlight Lourdes Morales, CPM, Business Consultant with Arlington Economic Development’s BizLaunch program.

For more than a decade, Lourdes has helped entrepreneurs and small business owners access the guidance, resources, and connections they need to build and grow their businesses. Through her leadership of BizLaunch en Español, she has expanded access to business education, counseling, and opportunities for thousands of Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs across the community.

Her work reflects the important role that inclusive economic development, cultural competency, and strong community partnerships play in creating greater opportunity for entrepreneurs and strengthening our regional business ecosystem.

In 2023, Lourdes received a Merit Award from Arlington Economic Development in recognition of her work developing programs that generated meaningful economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate Lourdes and the leadership, service, and economic impact Hispanic professionals and entrepreneurs bring to our communities.

A graduation is more than the end of a program. It is a reflection of the work, commitment, partnerships, and progress that made the journey meaningful.

The F&B Business Readiness Program Graduation brought together participants, speakers, partners, sponsors, and community leaders to celebrate the completion of our first cohort and the momentum built throughout the program.

The Small Business Finance Forum brought business owners, lenders, and financial professionals together for practical conversations around financial readiness, financing options, and access to capital.

Hosted by the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD), in partnership with MOVE Business Chamber and Arlington Economic Development, the forum created opportunities for small businesses to learn directly from practitioners and connect with lenders and financial partners.
