We're one of just two Civil Air Patrol units in Washington that meets on an USAF base. Contact us prior to the meeting via Facebook so we can help you access the base.

A Civil Air Patrol plane was the only nonmilitary aircraft allowed over the smoldering remnants of the Word Trade Center 20 years ago today, one day after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Three New York Wing members flew over the shattered site, as depicted in the painting “We Were There” by Diana Kraus (right). Their photographs of the destruction, including the image on the right, helped planners evaluate the damage and develop a response.

The 10th Anniversary Felts Field Neighbor Day is three weeks from today! Plan to join us on Saturday, Sept. 4th. Get up close to vintage aircraft, explore community exhibits and enjoy historic aircraft demonstration flights. The event goes from 9:00am-3:00pm and is free and open the public.
