The scouts in toop 342 elected to attend Camp Easton for summer camp in July of 2024. Camp Easton is located on beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene and offered the scouts plenty of opportunities to earn merit badges. Next summer we're looking at Melita Island in Montana for summer camp.

Everyone is cordially invited next Monday, 11/11/24 8:00am for a Veterans Day event. Come join in with the scouts as we honor our military service members interred at Fort George Wright cemetery. We are putting flags on the graves of veterans and participating in the flag raising ceremony. It will last for approximately 1.5 hours and all ages are welcome to assist.

The 2023 All-District Fall Camporee was hosted by the Big Foot Scout District on September 29 thru October 1 at Camp Cowles Scout Reservation.
In the morning Scouts visited with the Washington Fish and Wildlife department to check off several merit badge requirements in the morning session. In the afternoon the scouts used their skills to quest for a lost treasure in a traditional camporee competition!

08/13-19/2023 Scouts enjoyed an exciting week at Camp Meriwether on the Oregon coast. many fun and challenging merit badges were earned such as climbing, rifle & shotgun shooting, archery, space exploration, mountain biking, and many more. The opportunity to display scout spirit and celebrate scouting achievements in a large group is priceless.

07-31-23, the troop met at Clear Lake Military Resort for some water activities. Training covered basic canoe skills and practice rescue swimmer drills. This was an event the whole family could join and learn valuable water safety skills.

On 07-19-23 The scouts held their 3rd annual Frisbee Golf Championship located at Miller Park. The Scouts were victorious over the adults and remain the undisputed champs for another year. Fun was had by all with the adults looking forward to next years rematch. This event, like many scout activities, is open to the entire family.

Scout meetings don't always take place in a classroom. On 6/05/23 the troop met at the entrance to the base gym for part 1 of the Tenderfoot Physical Fitness test. Scouts are scored on their performance doing pushups, sit-ups, sit & reach, and the one mile walk/run. Scouts record their physical activity for 30 days and then take the test again to note any improvements in their score from the first test.

Come join in with the scouts as we honor our military service members and family members interred at Fort George Wright cemetery.
