We finished our last week of LifeWise for this year! Our teachers celebrated a great year with games, fun, and food! We prayed one last time to thank God and ask blessings over everyone. Have a great summer and we will see you next fall!

This week at LifeWise, our 2nd grade lesson was on the parable of the good Samaritan from the gospel of Luke. The students learned that Jesus wants us to love our neighbors. He wants us to be good Samaritans like the man in the story and help others. We discussed people in our community that help others. We decided to thank our firefighters for being good Samaritans. The students filled bags with candy items which represented qualities of a fireman. They also drew pictures on their bags. Three of our firefighters came to accept their appreciation bags. The second graders are going to try to be good Samaritans in our community.

Our Easter video may be a little delayed—but it’s never too late to celebrate what matters most!

This year during classes leading up to the Passion of Christ, Romans 10:9 was a key verse and a “lightbulb moment” for students. We made sure to include the “Criminal 2” in the video!

We’re grateful for all that went into this and excited to finally share it with you.

This week in LifeWise 5th & 6th grades, students are making puppets for an Easter skit next week. One student pointed out that their verse from Romans 10:9 is like the “Criminal 2” (hanging on the cross beside Jesus) in the play. He confessed with his mouth, and that same day Jesus saved him! How great is God’s love for us!

“If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” - Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬

This week in 7th & 8th grade the lesson was on “Unity in Hope.” We talked about how even in hard times we have a SURE hope that Jesus is coming again and so as believers we have HOPE, and no matter what the outcome we are victorious! Such a powerful message… along with a delicious porkburger lunch prepared by Coffee Steamer 😋

One of our 4th grade LifeWise teachers just asked me to order more Bibles, because we are running out as more students ask for a Bible of their own! I am sitting here in my office, just filled with joy to be ordering more Bibles, and so happy to witness how God is at work! 🥲 We also received a thank you note from a student: “Thank you for the Bible! I will take good care of it 🩷”.

This week’s 3rd grade lesson was “Love One Another”. We watched our lesson video and discussed how Jesus loved us first, so we can love others. He loved us so much that He died on the cross for us! Making Valentines for nursing homes around the area helped us understand a way to show love in action, by doing for others to bring them joy through Valentine cards.
