It’s coming up in a few weeks! Our “Get the Purrfect Summer Buddy” adoption event on June 27, noon-4pm at 600 Pierce Drive, Fairborn. We will have all of our adoptable kittens and cats on display. Adoption prices are $100 for a kitten 8 months or less and $50 for a cat over 8 months. Price includes spay/neutering, deworming, flea treatment and first shots. Mark your calendars and be sure to join us. It’s an open house where you can come visit and rumor has it that there will be snacks. Check out the fabulous poster made by one of our awesome and talented volunteers. (I love the cat on a surfboard!). And, as always thank you to our wonderful cat community for all of the wonderful donations. We could not do this without you!

**(( Help needed !! We only have a few days of canned kitten food left on our shelves))** We are on overload. Right now with 35 kittens in house with only half ready for homes. And bottle fed kittens soon to come back to rescue when eating on their own. 8 kittens coming in tomorrow. 18 tiger kittens coming in on the 6th of this month. We have 12 litters on the waiting list to come in. Each litter will be coming in every few days to keep things running smoothly. Not including the emergency intakes. We are all most out of wet kitten food. Right now we are using a few cases a day. In 2 weeks with over 70 kittens it will be at least 4 cases a day. That's only the kittens not including the case a day of adult food we use. We had to just spend $530 on vaccinations for the intake kittens coming in. We are in desperate need of can kitten food. We have some beautiful kittens ready for adoption right now. We will not show any kittens not ready yet. We have been blown up with people asking about the orange kittens. They will not be ready for weeks and when ready they will go on adoption floor. First come will get the pick. This may seem mean but with only 6 volunteers trying to do everything we have to do it this way. Please if you want to come take a look at kittens just make a appointment. We do not have time to keep checking with each volunteer to see who is available. Yes we have long hair kittens. We no longer are taking deposit on kittens not ready yet. Please please if you could help and donate can kitten food it would be greatly appreciated. Our address is 600 Pierce Dr. Fairborn Ohio 45324. We have a donation box if we are not there. Our camera will let us know donations are in. We will come put it away. Or you can have it shipped to our office. If you would like to volunteer please contact us. We need volunteers. We would love to give you a tour and discuss volunteering.

As of today our adoption price will be changing to $100 per kitten and $50 for a adult cats over 8 months. At the price of $75 we was adopting out kittens for we was losing to much money on the kittens. They cost of a spay is $95 and a neuter is $65. The cost of 3 sets of shots and a rabies $60. The cost of worming and flea control is $40. That cost to us is $195 for each female we adopt out. That is $120 we lost per female kitten. On males we spend $165 with a lose of $90 a male kitten. With raising the adoption fee only $25 we can get out of the red. We do expect to lose money for we are a non-profit. We just can't afford not to raise the cost. Our prices have doubled in the past 3 years and have stayed the same price. We hope everyone understands why our adoption fee has gone up to $100 per kitten and staying the same for kittens over 8 months and adult's at the price of $50.

A box full of kittens. That pretty much sums up the plight of every rescue this time of year and our rescue is no exception. We have over 30 kittens and are way beyond overload. So, what do we do? We rely on the graciousness of our donors to keep us going with food, litter and such and we are so appreciative. We even received some cozy donut beds for the kitties who are loving them. All of those supplies keeps us going. We also rely on our donors for contributions on our behalf to Enon Veterinary Hospital. Just this morning one of our poor little homeless kittens was experiencing severe head tilt, had one pupil dilated and the other pupil normal and could barely walk. So we rushed him to the vet. Turns out he has a vestibular problem so he is being treated for ear mites, given eye cream to clear up some “gunky” eyes, flea meds for lice and some meds for possible parasites. As the vet said, “ it’s like he just got off a cruise ship”. It’s unclear if his wobbles are due to his ears or maybe his brain. So, we’ll treat for a bit of everything and see how he does. Your donations to the Enon Vet make possible treatments for kittens like this and we are so grateful. Meanwhile, feel free to make an appointment to see our adoptable cats and kittens by emailing [email protected]. And thank you all for your continued support.

We try to post daily but it doesn’t always happen. (It’s kitten season and we are running at warp speed to keep up with all the cleaning, feeding and vetting.) Today we get to celebrate because 2 of our kitties, Kirby and Yoshi, found homes. Thank you for giving a homeless kitty a new home! Our kitty of the day is Cadet, a small gray almost 4 month old kitten with some reminders that he lived outside for most of his short life. He has one eye that has some damage possibly from being swiped by another animal. His other eye is fine. Cadet was skin and bones when he came to us but has since blossomed into a plump kitten. He is very gentle and the sweetest boy about being picked up and cuddled. He gets along great with other cats. He will be fixed at an upcoming clinic where he will get his shots completed. The adoption fee for Cadet is $75 and you can email [email protected] to set up a time to meet him or any of our adoptable cats. Once again, thank you for all the donations. It’s kind of crazy how much litter, food and cleaning supplies it takes to keep the kitties all healthy and fed.

Once upon a time last fall, a group of kittens were abandoned at a gas station. Betsy is a one year old long haired tortie who was one of those kittens and she was scared to death. It has taken our grade A team of cat volunteers this long to get her comfortable around people. And, it’s worked because Betsy now loves treats, being brushed and even tolerates being held. She gets along great with other cats. Betsy would do best in a quieter environment. She is such a lovely tortoiseshell and we are all rooting for her to find that perfect family where she will feel at home. She is fixed and uptodate on shots. The adoption fee for Betsy is $50 and you can email [email protected] to set up a time to meet her or any of our adoptable cats. We appreciate all the shares so we can find homes for these kitties!

We have so many adoptions lately that it’s hard to keep up! So, let’s try this again. Here we have Yoshi. Yoshi is a beautiful little 2 month old gray and white male kitten. This kitten is gentle, inquisitive and really wants to be around people. Yoshi enjoys being cuddled and petted. His other favorite things are playing and napping with his cage mates. He will be fixed at an upcoming clinic where he will get his shots completed. The adoption fee for Yoshi is $75 and you can email [email protected] to set up a time to meet him or any of our adoptable cats. We appreciate all the shares so we can find homes for these kittens!
