Fairborn Rotarians have been hard at work getting ready for Fairborn's 78th Annual 4th of July Parade. The parade is this Saturday, July 4 beginning at 10 a.m. at Central Avenue and Broad Street.

Earlier this week, members came together to decorate the Rotary float, bringing plenty of red, white, and blue spirit as we prepare to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary. Be on the lookout during the parade, we will be handing out THOUSANDS of popsicles to keep people cool! 🇺🇸

A big thank you to past President Tim Steininger for an incredible year of leadership and service to the Fairborn Rotary Club. We appreciate his dedication and the positive impact he has made on our club and community.

As Tim passes the gavel, we're excited to welcome Amy Gayheart as our new Rotary Club President. We look forward to another great year of service under her leadership!

To celebrate the transition, members took part in a Red, White & Rotary patriotic dress-up challenge, showing off plenty of festive spirit ahead of Independence Day. Congratulations to everyone who participated and helped make the tradition another success! 🇺🇸

A big thank you to Greene County Sheriff Scott Anger for stopping by to share updates about the Greene County Sheriff's Office and the new Gene Fischer Justice Center.

Sheriff Anger discussed how the new 100,000-square-foot facility will serve Greene County for decades to come, housing the Sheriff's Office administration, patrol and investigative units, the coroner's office, concealed carry licensing, background checks, and a modern 287-bed jail designed to improve safety and expand access to mental health, medical, and rehabilitation services.

The Justice Center is named in honor of the late Sheriff Gene Fischer, a proud Fairborn City Schools graduate who served Greene County with dedication and distinction. His legacy of public service continues to inspire those who protect and serve our community today.

We appreciate Sheriff Anger taking the time to connect with our community and highlight the important work being done to keep Greene County safe.

The Rotary Club of Fairborn was happy to welcome Cainan Risso Yong, a 16-year-old exchange student from Brazil participating in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program through the Rotary Club São José do Rio Pardo.

Cainan has spent the past year in the United States and will head home to Brazil next month. During his visit, he shared more about his experience, his love of sports, spending time with friends and family, and playing several musical instruments. He even treated the club to some of his piano skills, which he has been learning during his year in the USA! Thank you, Cainan, for joining us and sharing your story. We wish you safe travels home and all the best in the future!

The Fairborn Rotary Club was grateful to welcome this year’s Fairborn Rotary Foundation scholarship recipients and their families for lunch.

It was wonderful getting to know Brynlee Ball, Claire Campbell, Taylor Yocum and Callie Howard before they begin their next chapter in college. Each student has already accomplished so much, and we are excited to see where their futures take them.

Congratulations again to these outstanding seniors, and best wishes as you head off to college! 💛💙
