The Fairborn Civic Band and A.C. Strings combine each summer and Christmas season to form the Fairborn Regional Orchestra (FRO) and deliver biannual concerts to the community. FRO is open to all ages and levels of musicianship and under the co-directorship of Dr. Phillipa Burgess, Mr. Gary C. Johnson, and Miss Mary Jo Johnson. On August 22, 2026, FRO delivered a remarkable performance of selections celebrating A Symphony of Nature to include classical works of Beethoven, Grieg, and Respighi.

Fairborn Civic Band (FCB) will resume Thursday night rehearsals in October with date soon to be announced on our FCB page.

Fairborn Community Christmas Choir (FCCC) rehearsals will also soon be announced on our FCB page. The FCCC, in keeping with our annual tradition, will perform in our joint concert on Friday evening, December 11.

REGISTRATION IS DUE SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17.

On Friday, September 11 at 9:00 AM, the Fairborn Civic Band will present musical selections, commemorating the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Information concerning this upcoming event is detailed in the article below.

The City of Fairborn invites the community to come together on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 9 a.m. for our annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Calamityville, located at 506 E. Xenia Drive.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, and we invite you to join us as we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who responded, and reflect on the strength and unity that followed.

A special highlight of this year’s ceremony will be a performance by the Fairborn Civic Band , featuring music commemorating the 25th anniversary. The City of Fairborn Police and Fire Joint Honor Guard, and several other community groups will also take part in the ceremony as we pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who answered the call that day.

Fairborn’s 9/11 Memorial features a steel beam recovered from the World Trade Center, providing a lasting place in our community to remember and reflect. 25 years later, we continue to honor the lives forever changed by September 11.
