As the year comes to a close, it’s a great time to think about the causes and communities you want to support.

A gift to Golden Heart Community Foundation helps build a lasting resource for Interior Alaska. Through our permanent endowment, generosity today can help support local community needs for generations to come.

If you’re thinking about your charitable giving this year, consider making an investment in the place we call home. 💛

There’s something special about fall in Interior Alaska. The golden leaves, crisp mornings, and the feeling that winter is just around the corner.

Before we trade our hiking boots for winter gear, we want to know:

What’s your favorite thing about fall in Interior Alaska?

💛 Grant Impact Spotlight: The Folk School

A Golden Heart Community Foundation grant helped The Folk School provide free, hands-on craft classes for kids and teens across Interior Alaska.

Through the Youth Series, 126 young people participated in classes ranging from sewing, drawing, weaving, and printmaking to metalworking and outdoor skills. The program also created opportunities for youth and adults to learn together, building skills, confidence, and connections along the way.

We’re proud to support programs that give local youth opportunities to get creative, learn something new, and connect with their community.

When you give to the Golden Heart Community Foundation, your gift can become part of a permanent endowment designed to support Interior Alaska for generations to come.

Instead of being spent all at once, an endowed fund is invested for the future. The earnings are then be used to support local nonprofits and community needs through grantmaking.

That means a gift made today can continue making a difference long after it’s given.

What Makes Interior Alaska Home?

Is it the long summer days? The quiet of a snowy winter? A favorite trail, a local tradition, or a familiar face around town?

Maybe it’s the people who show up when a neighbor needs a hand, the volunteers who give their time, or the local organizations working every day to make our communities stronger.

What makes Interior Alaska feel like home to you? Tell us in the comments! ⬇️💛

💛 Grant Impact Spotlight: Special Olympics Alaska Tanana Valley

A grant from Golden Heart Community Foundation helped Special Olympics Alaska’s Tanana Valley program provide year-round sports opportunities for more than 70 athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The program also brought together 40 Unified partners across sports including bowling, basketball, golf, bocce, and floor hockey. Together, athletes, partners, coaches, and volunteers are building friendships, breaking down stereotypes, and creating a more inclusive community. 🏆💛

We’re proud to support programs that ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate, compete, and belong.
