Whose Fargo singlets were better? Alaska or Kansas?

I’m pretty proud of this year’s Team Alaska gear.
It wasn’t easy. Getting the design exactly how I envisioned it and then converting everything correctly for sublimation platform took a lot of time and effort. Every piece was designed by me, and seeing how far Black Ice Gear has come is something I’m proud of.

I also know you’ll never make everyone happy. Some people prefer the big designer brands, and that’s okay. Our goal has never been to compete with a logo—it’s been to serve our wrestling community.

Instead of charging $300+ for a complete gear package, we were able to provide everything for $200, with $20 from every package going directly back to Team Alaska as a fundraiser.

Black Ice Gear is an Alaska-owned, veteran-owned, Christian-owned business built on the belief that quality gear shouldn’t keep kids from competing. We would rather provide affordable, high-quality gear than sell $80–$90 singlets that many athletes will only wear for a season or two.

The Bockert family has always believed in finding ways to help. We’ve worked to lower costs for Team Alaska, organized raffles to help families raise money, and continually asked, “What can we do to help more kids get to camp, compete, and reach the level they belong at?”

That’s the mission. That’s what matters. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Team Alaska and the athletes who represent our state

Congratulations to every Team Alaska wrestler who stepped on the mat and represented our state. Every athlete who made the trip carried the Alaska name with pride.

The improvement in our freestyle program was evident throughout the tournament. Our girls’ team, though small in numbers, battled every match, adapted, improved, and represented Alaska with toughness and determination.

But what we’re seeing isn’t a surprise.

For the past six years, Alaska wrestling has consistently proven that we belong on the national stage. Year after year, we’ve shown up in greater numbers, earned more respect, and continued to raise the standard. This year, we broke even more records, and the future is even brighter.

What should excite everyone is that nearly all of these boys—including our placers—will be back next year with another year of experience, strength, and confidence.

Alaska Greco-Roman wrestling continues to establish itself as one of the nation’s premier programs. Whether competing overseas, traveling out of state, or battling on the biggest national stages, our athletes continue to prove they can compete with—and beat—the best.

This isn’t luck. It’s the result of years of commitment from athletes, coaches, parents, and clubs across Alaska.

The climb isn’t over.

We’re just getting started.
