From December 1st through the 13th the Women of Laborers' Local 942 gathered donations for Interior Alaska Center For Non-Violent Living.
Many of our Union Women showed love and support for this organization that helps so many.

Our first Women of Local 942 holiday party. It was a festive and fun evening. There was no shortage of delicious food and enticing desserts. These ladies really went all out making this a beautiful and fun evening.

Here is another one of our women in the Laborers' Local 942 who has recently graduated. Luna Forlino showed up at the tryout for the Alaska Laborers Training School while she was still 17. She carried blocks, dug a ditch, and stacked skids. She placed her last skid on her last stack with 5 minutes to spare. She had the biggest smile when she was told that she has made it to the interviews.
Although this young lady was accepted, she could not join the apprenticeship till she turned 18 (which was a couple months away). The day after her 18th birthday she came back, finished getting registered, picked up her first dispatch and just over two years later she graduated.
Luna has had several successful dispatches with the employer's eager to rehire her. She regularly volunteers helping in the community whenever needed.
