Thank you for joining us at the Fairbanks Apprenticeship Expo!

On Tuesday, we welcomed 196 attendees for a day of exploring apprenticeship opportunities and connecting with skilled trades professionals!

We were excited to welcome students from:
Hutchison High School – 67
North Pole High School – 30
Lathrop High School – 22
West Valley High School – 25
Other visitors – 52

Attendees joined us from Fairbanks, North Pole, Minto, Nulato, Allakaket, Kodiak, and even Texas!

A huge thank you to our apprenticeship partners, schools, and community members** for making this year's expo a success. We appreciate everyone who helped introduce the next generation to opportunities in Alaska's skilled trades!

From measuring and cutting to building a staircase, our FREE Carpentry Training gives you the opportunity to experience the skills used in the construction industry!

Join Alaska Works Partnership November 9–13 for a week of hands-on learning, including:

📐 Construction math, measuring & layout
🛠️ Safe use of hand and power tools
🧱 Sheetrock cutting & fitting
🪚 Woodworking with circular saws
🔨 Building a staircase and landing

You'll also learn about jobsite safety, teamwork, and what to expect when working in the construction industry.

Thinking about a career in the skilled trades? This is an opportunity to try the work, build foundational skills, and explore whether carpentry could be the right path for you.

⚡ FAIRBANKS are you curious about a career in the electrical trades?

Here's an opportunity to get hands-on and experience some of the skills used in the industry!

Alaska Works Partnership is offering a FREE Electrical Wiring training October 19–23 in Fairbanks in partnership with the Alaska Electrical Apprenticeship.

During this week of hands-on training, you'll:

⚡ Learn basic residential wiring concepts
🧰 Safely use electrical tools and meters
🔌 Install outlets, switches & electrical panels
〰️ Practice bending and installing EMT conduit
🏠 Complete a real-world wiring project

You'll do more than hear about electrical work, you'll work with tools and materials while exploring the electrical trade as a potential career path.

If you've wondered whether a career or apprenticeship in the electrical trades could be right for you, this is a chance to get some experience and find out.
