ONE MORE COMPOST COLLECTION - Tuesday October 20th from 4:00 to 6:00 at Green Star of Interior Alaska - 2134 Texaco Ave (one block North of Van Horn behind Frontier Glass). Help Fairbanks Soil & Water Conservation District and Golden Heart Waste Management turn food waste back into compost!

You can pick up 3 gal. buckets from Fairbanks Soil & Water Conservation District at 590 University Ave Ste 2 (right next door to The Oasis restuarant downstairs). or at Green Star. Thanks to The Zen Turtle for providing the 3 gallon buckets!

Alaska Plastic Recovery Grizzly Wood tables at Fairbanks Children's Museum! Recycled AK plastic in tables that won't rot or splinter!

700 miles north, with a tableful of smiles waiting 🚚💚

Yesterday we rolled into Fairbanks with a special delivery for the Fairbanks Children's Museum: four 8-foot ADA-accessible Grizzly Wood picnic tables, plus a pint-sized 3-foot table built just for little hands. 🧒

The Children's Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so we were glad to pitch in — donating the child-sized table and the cost of shipping it all the way up the Parks Highway. When we first offered, Development Director Angel Peger put it better than we ever could:

💬 "This is the best news — you just made my summer."

That's exactly why we do this. These tables are made from recycled Alaska plastic, they'll shrug off Fairbanks winters without rot or splinters, and they'll give kids and families a sturdy place to gather, create, and snack for decades to come.

A huge thank-you to Angel Peger and to Togi Letuligasenoa for making it happen, and to the crew who helped us wrestle these (not-so-light!) tables into place. Fairbanks, enjoy them! 🎨

Come see the new composter at Golden Heart Waste Management TOMORROW (Friday the 25th) noon - 5. 3859 Peger Rd. (one block South of Van Horn). You can bring your recycling and, if you have it - this time only- bring food waste for the composter. You'll also be able to check out a bale of Shredway- Golden Heart Waste Management shredded paper. As if that wasn't enough - bring the kids - bounce houses will also be there! Golden Heart Waste Management is NOT a regular drop off for food waste, but stay tuned for dates andt imes for pop-up food waste collection at Green Star of Interior Alaska.

As part of a USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service grant, Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District, alongside our partners at Golden Heart Waste Management, invites you to celebrate a major milestone for our community. Join us this Friday, September 25th, for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new Earth Flow IM-40 Composter machine! ♻️✨
