We had so much fun with young artists at the Salmon Science and Culture Expo at Effie Kokrine Charter School! Junior high students designed and created a wearable PSA button about the importance of salmon and our summer Storm Drain Art Event to raise public awareness that all of the storm drains on our roadways flow directly into the Chena River and its tributaries.

Effie Kokrine Charter middle school students received a hands-on immersion into the cultural and scientific relevance of salmon during an inaugural expo on Wednesday.

Our summer field intern, Teslin Brannan (representing Oregon's Linfield University), is among this class of NOAA scholarship/internship winners! She got her start in kindergarten at Salcha School with GLOBE hydrosphere protocols on the 10-year Piledriver Slough study with TVWA. Well done, Teslin! Your school/club/group/student can be involved in an Adopt-A-Stream program, too. Ask us how!
