We are asking our community to step up when our government and leaders fail us. Any funds donated to this campaign will go directly to helping community members in the Native Village of Ambler. This includes:

Household water filtration systems
Drinking water (if needed)
Sanitation and cleaning supplies
Water storage/transportation supplies
Household repair needs
Infrastructure repairs and other long-term solutions as funding allows

All donations, no matter what size, mean a lot to the families in Ambler living without running water and sewer, even $1 helps. We know that the opposition to the proposed industrial Ambler Road is strong, and we are asking supporters of our cause to help support the village of Ambler as they navigate through this emergency. Thank you for standing with Ambler, and for your continued support of our cause.

Thank you all for a beautiful weekend together at the 2026 Alaska Food Festival & Conference in Fairbanks! So grateful for this year's partnership between the Alaska Food Policy Council, NĀTIFSorg, and Native Movement. We're honored that many communities and individuals from across Alaska and the world joined together to "dig in" on some much needed discussions.

✨ Native Movement is honored to be co-hosting The 2026 Alaska Food Festival and Conference, starting today in Fairbanks, alongside North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems NĀTIFSorg and Alaska Food Policy Council ✨

“We are proud to help bring this conference with all the expertise and knowledge of participants, presenters, and speakers to Fairbanks. Food security in Alaska is so important. While continuing to protect access to hunting, fishing, and gathering, we must also innovate and adapt to a rapidly changing climate that includes building healthy agricultural practices.”

This year’s conference theme is “Cultivating Community, Harvesting Hope.” The conference aims to be joyful, collaborative, and deeply rooted in the people and places that shape Alaska’s food systems. It will be a weekend to celebrate, share knowledge, skills, inspiration, and strengthen the relationships that help our communities thrive.

Join ACAT and Native Movement next week Wednesday, following the closing of Elders & Youth with a water ceremony.

🌀Hear from Alaska Native leaders to affirm the importance of water as a sacred entity, and learn about the proposed data centers happening in Alaska.

🌀If you’re traveling to Anchorage, bring sacred water from your home communities. We will gather our water to a shared container and ceremonially return it back to the land.

🌀The water ceremony will be held outside at the Anchorage Delaney Park Strip, in front of the First Presbyterian Church as a warm-up spot for Elders and others who get cold. This is a 6 minute walk from the Dena’ina Center.

WATER CEREMONY:
🌟 Wednesday, October 21 at 1:30 PM
🌟 Anchorage Delaney Park W 10th Ave — in front of First Presbyterian Church

FAIRBANKS // TONIGHT AT 5:30.

The Arctic mine needs public input, and tonight is your chance to show up and speak out. This proposed mine in the Ambler Mining District, which would depend on the Ambler road, would threaten clean water, caribou, salmon, and Indigenous communities.

WHEN: Tonight, October 13th, from 5:30-7:30pm

WHERE: JP Jones Center, 2400 Rickert Street, Fairbanks, Alaska

Ideas for comments:

    •    Explain how this mine and the road are a threat to clean water
    •    Ask about permafrost thaw and other climate impacts
    •    Discuss how mining and other industrialization hurts caribou, salmon, and other wild fish and game
    •    Tell a story about how mining has negatively impacted your community and request analysis to prevent further negative impacts
    •    Voice your opposition to the Ambler road, and tell those accepting comments that this mine cannot exist without the catastrophic road.

DM us if you need help formulating a comment or submitting a comment online if you are unable to attend.

Share this post so we can make our voices heard.

This Indigenous Peoples' Day and every day, we are proud to highlight the work being done by our co-hosts for the 2026 Alaska Food Festival & Conference: Native Movement and NATIFS.

Native Movement is dedicated to building people power, rooted in an Indigenized worldview, toward healthy, sustainable, & just communities for ALL. They support grassroots-led projects that align with our vision, that endeavor to ensure social justice, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, and the rights of Mother Earth. They are dedicated to Movement building for social, economic, ecological, and healing justice. Movements take many organizations, are comprised of many leaders, and take many strategies. They are dedicated to Movement building via three baskets of work: Community Education, Action & Advocacy, and Movement Infrastructure Support.

NĀTIFSorg works to cultivate the seeds of Indigenous heritage, nourish our people, and honor the land that sustains us. Over the past two decades there has been an increasing focus on Native foods. Chef Sean Sherman has been at the forefront of this movement - addressing economic and health crises affecting Native communities by re-establishing Native foodways. North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems (NATIFS) was born with a goal to generate wealth and improve health in Native communities through food-related enterprises.

We're thrilled there are so many other Indigenous organizations across Alaska working on food system health in their communities too. Tag them below!

✨Honoring Indigenous Peoples' Day✨ At Native Movement, every day is Indigenous Peoples' Day as we move forward to develop community organizing leadership and movement building, centered in social justice and healing foundations ~

🪶 There are so many ways to celebrate; through the ARTS, our LANGUAGES, our NATIVE FOODS and also our ADVOCACY as we stand up for Indigenous peoples' rights around the world. As Indigenous Peoples we are not immune from the reaches of ICE and this authoritarian administration. We are committed to protect the lands and waters we come from, and we stand with our neighbors and the right to migrate!
✊Check out the upcoming online training and know your rights with the ACLU of Alaska : ICE at the Polls: Know Your Rights Training • October 27, 2026 • 6:00pm - 7:30pm • ( acluak.org/event/ice-at-the-polls-know-your-rights-training/ )

🪶Make a plan to VOTE! If all Alaska Native people voted during a normal turnout year, approximately 25% of the electorate at the polls would be Alaska Native*. That means in Alaska, the Native Vote could be more powerful than any other dominant political party! Early voting begins October 19th ~ ( *aknativevote.com)

🪶 Indigenous leadership and community organizing is our daily response to the erosion of democracy and human rights everywhere. We need YOUR support especially this year as traditional philanthropy shrinks to the threat of fascism and turns further from directly supporting organizations like ours. Please join Native Movement today with a gift donation of any amount to ensure we can continue to nurture and incubate the powerful movements we all know we need.

"Our rides are inclusive; always designed to be approachable for cyclists of all skills and experiences. We share access to free rentals from the Trek Store in Anchorage for our BIPOC cyclists to borrow a bike if they do not have one. Additionally, we have incredible white allies that support us in many ways, whether helping transport bikes, lending out personal e-bikes, or bringing snacks and drinks to the end of rides. We have hosted Mountain Bike skills clinics, mechanical skills development evenings at Off The Chain, coffee hang outs, and both winter and summer group rides all over the greenways of Anchorage.

Additionally, we have started a gear library with bikepacking gear that will soon be available for any BIPOC cyclist to borrow gear for free and get out on the land on their bikes! Our community has grown a lot in the past 4 years and we are always so grateful for the adventures and laughter. Our original founding members included Dev Pedacito, Charlotte Levy, Christina Grande, Sofia Petroni, Liv Castro Arellano, and Marilyn Denton."

One of our longest standing baskets of work is our commitment to movement building via the support of emerging and long standing grassroots-led groups and organizations. We provide administrative and fiscal support for Indigenous and grassroots-led projects that align with our vision of building healthy, sustainable, & self-determined communities for all.

Donate now to support the Native Village of Ambler.

The Native Village of Ambler, Alaska, is going through a community wide emergency. After pipes burst in a devastating freeze, the village has been without running water and sewer since February 2026.

85% of the water and sewer pipes in the village need to be replaced, leaving the community of ~270 people without clean drinking water, water to wash clothes, and other life necessities.

This emergency comes at a time when millions of dollars are being allocated towards the proposed industrial Ambler Road. Instead of providing the basic services that the people of Ambler need, the government is allocating resources towards building a road that will disrupt subsistence harvests and damage a priceless ecosystem.

Replacement water and sewer pipelines are currently being installed and hopefully, the community will soon have running water again. This fundraiser is to help offset the cost of the devastating impacts this water crisis has had on the community of Ambler.

Stand in solidarity with the people of the Native Village of Ambler today, and donate.
