Is it almost baseball season? Will the Kiwanis Club of Fairbanks again be sponsoring a Kids Day At The Ball Park? The answer is yes to both those things. So mark your calendars! June 20 is the day that kids, ages 18 and under, get in free to watch our wonderful Goldpanners play at Growden Park, get some free food, and maybe even win some great stuff. The 20th is the day after the Midnight Sun Game. Parents, you can get in free, too, by getting a special ticket or printing off one that will be posted here later next month. So be on the look out when we get closer to that June 20th date.

Today was the Kiwanis Club of Fairbanks’ final push to complete the bench building service project for the Tanana Valley State Fair and Ice Alaska. We assembled the last few and painted away for a few hours and achieved success! We’re so proud of all those who helped out these past three Saturdays. You guys rock! A big thank you to those who helped out but were not officially members of the club. Your efforts were greatly appreciated! Thank you, thank you! So, be looking for these new benches at the fair this year and the World Ice Art Championships in February 2027!

The Kiwanis Club of Fairbanks and other volunteers had another successful day of bench building for the Tanana Valley State Fair and Ice Alaska. Today was assembly day. The learning curve was pretty steep at the beginning, but the teams came together and started cranking out parts. The first thing was to assemble the legs and then put on the seats and backs. Kits were initially set up and we went to work. Next week we will finish up assembly and start painting. Fantastic job, Team! Thank you for those who brought the bratwurst and homemade sauerkraut we had for lunch. That was also fantastic.
