Tanana-Yukon Historical Society Members of the TYHS support educational and research activities related to history in the Tanana and Yukon River regions. The public is welcome. S.

Join us to celebrate and preserve interior Alaska's history. The Tanana-Yukon Historical Society meets every month except in the summer. Please contact [email protected] or call (907) 456-8947 for more information. We hope you will join the Tanana-Yukon Historical Society (TYHS) board of directors in its monthly meetings. PROGRAMS
In the summer, we operate the Wickersham House Museum, a National Register for Historic Places designated historic home now located in Pioneer Park. In the winter, we run a monthly lecture series featuring presentations about local and state historical topics. The programs are offered the third Wednesday of each month in Pioneer Hall at Pioneer Park (formerly Alaskaland). We also provide information and assistance to owners of historic properties and advocate for the preservation of the Interior's historic places. Finally, we have a publishing program that reproduces historical classics such as First Catch Your Moose: the Fairbanks Cookbook of 1909 and Wickersham's Old Yukon (with the UA Press) and researches new histories such as "Cold Missions: the U. Army Air Forces and Ladd Field in WWII" and "A History of Creamer's Dairy, Fairbanks, Alaska."
