Santa's Helpers AK We are a community of volunteers who provide food and toys to families in need during the holidays. Let’s continue neighbors helping neighbors.

Let's continue neighbors helping neighbors for decades to come! We are pleased to announce the continuation of longtime Fairbanks tradition previously known as Santa’s Clearing House. Originated by the Snedden family, as a way for Fairbanks-area residents to brighten the holidays of neighbors in need. As a project of the North Star Community Foundation (www.nscfundalaska.org), we can accept tax deductible donations by mail, paypal, credit card or in person. Please make checks payable to North Star Community Foundation, subject-Santa’s Helpers. Our program will collaborate and support other programs to serve as many families as possible. Through donations of cash, food and gifts, a food box containing just under one week worth of food and gifts for each child was provided to over 300 Fairbanks households. Volunteer skill sets we seek include: warehouse, phones, gift sorting, fundraising, gift packing, hospitality for volunteers, etc. If you need to contact us please do so at

Friends, we have had a flood in our storage. The loss is staggering, both materially and in time. Thousands of dollars in toys, books, and Stuffies. That beautiful teddy bear toss- very few are salvageable. We have taken a couple of weeks to let the water subside. The hard work of moving and going through every box and bag will start this week. We don't need help with that bit just yet. We ask a lot from this community, and you always show up. Can we ask you to watch for sales?
* End of season blankets
* Board games
* Stuffed animals and dolls
* Art supplies- many can be put on subscribe and save with Amazon

Fairbanks Nissan has been amazing in letting us collect items at their store all year.

The Easter Bunny's is sharing with Santa! Each of these 'baskets' has 4-5 toys. Most have a soft basket (or a backpack) that can be used for any toys storage. The little farm one though folds out into a play mat! If you find yourself at Walmart and would like to get a couple to be taken apart and used as Christmas gifts feel free to drop them at Nissan.
