The SWAN Circle is place to truly, authentically network about what it important in our lives; to share ideas, share concerns, get and give help w business or community situations, share hilarious happenings, make each other laugh, and be willing to cry with one another, introduce each other to helpful resources or people, etc....
We are a group mostly online, meeting occasionally in person..... and we are limited to women who are positive, honest, good-natured, not easily offended (and if we are offended we are strong enough to speak w the other person privately to resolve issues) and we care about supporting and being supported by other women here in Alaska. While we don't want to start off with a bunch of "rules," I propose we gently remind ourselves that this is a place of positive energy. We remind ourselves that we are women who want to empower one another, not girls who need to compete! Let's ask ourselves these 4 questions I've borrowed from Rotary International:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? What the SWAN Circle is NOT: not a political forum (unless the politics impacts our businesses directly!), not a sales and marketing or recruiting forum (although if we have offerings we won't be shy about letting each other know! and we will definitely help promote each others' businesses inside and outside the Circle). It is also not a place to trash, bash or bad-talk ANYONE. It is not a place to compete with each other but rather to collaborate uplift and empower each other. and the women who qualify to be part of the SWAN Circle are FUN to be around both online and offline!
