AAH welcomes Jill Haugeberg to our steering committee. Jill is a longtime Fairbanksan and retired teacher, and we are grateful to have her on our team! AAH has a nine-member volunteer steering committee composed of local seniors who guide our organization and support our programs in all ways.

Do you need help navigating the Medicare Maze? We can help!

Join the Fairbanks Senior Center and ADRC North as we welcome Terri Crockett, Project Assistant and Volunteer Coordinator for the Medicare Information Office,
for a MEDICARE 101 SEMINAR.

Come learn all about health insurance provided by Medicare Parts A, B & D, Medigap Plans, enrollment, deductibles, and how to get help when you need it.

We're looking forward to the most fun fundraiser of the year! This Friday night, come support the Literacy Council of Alaska and have fun watching the AAH team try to repeat our spelling success!

Join us for our 34th annual Biz Bee on Friday, April 17th, at 6pm! Watch as local businesses compete in teams of three as they put their spelling skills for a chance to become this year's spelling bee champion!

Here are a few examples of the service requests awesome AAH volunteers fulfill for our members. We can't do everything, but volunteers can help with many kinds of short tasks, from light home maintenance to rides to tech support. We're always ready to welcome new volunteers and there's no weekly or monthly commitment. Volunteers accept service requests one by one, choosing what they'd like to help with. Here are the March schedules for the Fairbanks Senior Center at 1424 Moore St. They have so many great exercise opportunities these days! Try one out if you haven't. I also want to point out Take Charge Tuesday, March 10 at 5:30pm. This month's topic is Advance Care Directives and POLST documents, which are important to understand! Dr. Sriharsha Gowtham from Foundation Health Senior Care will be there to discuss both and answer questions. Take Charge Tuesday is a great series organized by ADRC (Aging & Disability Resource Center).
