We bid a fond farewell to one of the Friends Of The Fox's Classic Movie Series and Friends of the FOX Theatre volunteers, Wendell Jacob, who not only donated very large sums of money to the organ project to return a theatre organ to the Bob Hope Theatre/FOX California, he literally rolled up his sleeves and helped hours on end in the Geiger Manufacturing shop during our Robert Morton's restoration, as may be seen here in this August 10, 2002 photograph. Mr. Jacob died peacefully in his sleep yesterday morning, September 29th. He was 92. He had a theatre organ of his own, a Moller, originally from the lobby of the FOX Theatre, San Francisco in a special music room built specifically for it in his Davis, California residence. Prior, he had been a film exhibitor, owning the Colfax Theatre of Colfax, CA, and an electronics engineer. As a youth, he was the projectionist at the Varsity Theatre in Davis. We'll miss him and his great support of Friends of the FOX over the years.
